I bought this piece of equipment after looking around for a while this is a great piece of equipment I am very pleased with it so far only thing I noticed is that its not so easy to load the cord with the double line coming out but I did figure it out over all I think this is an exceptional piece of equipment for the price

I replaced my trimmer with this model from Sam's Club. It has a long shaft that makes you stand straight up rather than bending to operate it. It is very reliable and quick start. Good power and ranks with the best trimmers out there. I love this item and it comes with a edger attachment for a bonus package. Order this from Sam's Club and you wont be disappointed.

I bought this after shopping around quite a bit. I was in between this, the echo, and husqvarna split shafts. The major appeal was that this offered similar features for half of the price. I have extremely thick centipede and St. Augustine grass and this trimmer and edger made short work. Great purchase.

I've owned this and several attachments for over a year. QUICK POINTERS: - The spool inside is reversible. Confirm "This Side Out For Straight Shaft" and close it back up. There's no need to keep it open while loading string. - The spool will hold 20 feet of 0.080" string or 15 feet of 0.095" string. - Rotate the knob to line up the slot with the arrows and eyelets. - Thread a full length of string halfway through like you're lacing a shoe. - Turn the knob in the direction which it turns freely without pushing the knob. Many of the complaints have been due to spool reversal or winding in the wrong direction. Hope this helps everyone appreciate the brilliant design!

Bought this about 3 weeks ago because we've been having heavy rains lately and it's been allowing our farm land to get out of control.. with that being said.. our grass and weeds were a solid 2 feet in most areas with thistle stocks well over 3 feet.. pulled it out of the box.. threw it on the ground, pulled the gas cap off.. spit on the unit a couple of times... kicked it.. put some good year and a half old 2 cycle I mixed too long ago in.. primed it 8 times.. pulled till I felt a whisper of life.. then choked it down and ran it like the texas chainsaw massacre remix.. there was no weeds too tall.. there was no throttle to high... periodically I would hold it up in the air and shake it like the wookies do on star wars, and then hulk Hogan slam the business end back into the tallest set of Amazon rainforest grade grass I was growing.. lesson to be learned here.. don't listen to the one star reviews.. defective models happen, and user errors are pretty regular with these type of things.. this machine is solid.. I'm very... very rough on my tools.. it survived and asked for seconds.. it's all i could ask of the tool..

I bought this online and was shipped to my house in 4 days. Arrived in original box safely. Assembly took about 10 minutes. You really only screw in two pieces. I started with the edger. It worked well but does bog down if you hit hard soil. I have 500+ feet to edge so this is a task for me to do my whole property. You have to go slowly and I would suggest not starting deep. With the edger attachment, this makes the unit very heavy. After about an hour, I was feeling it in my arms/back for sure. I also felt it later on in the evening as well:) Next up was the trimmer. This worked fine as a trimmer but one thing I did notice was the head spun counter-clockwise. A lot of grass/debris was hitting my lower legs, shoes, & socks. Its different than any other trimmer I used which spun clockwise to my knowledge. Pros: - Unit was fairly quiet as trimmers go. - Seems to be well built. It is not top of the line but isn't cheap either. I did see the brand name Homelite in the instructions. - Started up easily and quickly. Restarts were just as easy. - Switching from edger to trimmer takes 1-2 minutes. It is only one screw. Cons: - Heavy. Will get very fatiguing operating for over an hour. This feels much heavier than my old trimmer. - Edger bogs down in heavy soil - Unit gets very hot at the motor so be careful. - Prepare your lower legs to get dirty if you are trimming gas You cannot buy a trimmer/edger with these specs at this price anywhere. I looked. Overall and so far, I am happy with the purchase. If you are a bigger/stronger person(man or woman) you should not have many issues operating this. If you are not, just be prepared to work slowly.
