Wow! Amazing product.

After hanging two of them and checking on them, I thought they weren't going to work. But then the next time I checked them, the bag was FULL of flies and there were even more flies trying to get into the bag. I was shocked! I think placement is the key. And yes, they really do smell bad, so put them in a place you won't have to smell them. I put one by the garage, the other on the side of the house. Worked perfectly.

New Formula does NOT work

We have used these fly traps for years with great success. The new (2017) bait does NOT work... it will NOT attract flies the way the old bait did. We have a couple dozen we bought last month and as a work-around, we toss a raw shrimp into each trap. That does work, but you shouldn't have to do that.

Flies it attracts likely exacerbates fly problem

I have been using these for about six months now around my home to try and help keep down black flies entering my home when children and animals come in/out. I have four locations in my yard about 30ft apart where I place these traps. After six months I have to say that these likely do not help in the grand scheme. Yes, they definitely attract flies and they definitely catch flies (by the hundreds or even thousands), but they are also attracting new flies from the entire neighborhood into your yard - drawing them in like a community cookout. Sometimes I can get two weeks out of these traps before they need disposed of, other times they need changed within just a couple days before the smell is too putrid to tolerate in warm weather. When it is hot outside and the water inside is hot, you can EASILY smell these from 100 feet away if downwind. It smells like a dying animal. This leads to another point. At $6/pop, it becomes quite pricey changing these out every week on average (I've spent hundreds in half a year on these). I have not noticed any reduction of flies inside my home, likely due to the increased fly activity around my home that these traps cause. I may try not using the traps for a few weeks and see how that goes, especially as we are nearing colder months. So what's my recommendation? Inconclusive on effectiveness. Try it yourself and don't focus on how many flies these traps are catching, focus on the flies in areas you don't want them.

Amazing product!

This product is simply amazing. At first I had my doubts while ordering and am glad I took a chance on it. It was easily assembled within 5 minutes. Within 15-20 minutes after the contents within the bag dissolved, flies were swarming around the bag. I've trapped approximately 20 flies within that time limit. I HIGHLY recommend!

These work really well. They will attract and contain the flies. However, the odor is terrinle, it smells like dead fish. Additionally, it almost attracts too many flies. Ive had it up for about 2 weeks now and while there are PLENTY of flies in it there are quite a few still swarming my patio at this pont because so many have been attracted.
