The chop function works well with onions and herbs and the grind function works well with nuts and hard spices.

I gave this as a gift so the mother could chop up food for her 1 year old. She loves it!!

Hate chopping single onions, carrots, etc. this does an excellent job. You can pulse the chopping back and forth for an even cup.

I feel the work bowl is a little flimsy. Especially the handle. But it does a very good job chopping and grinding.
