Best features for the money
I bought this tv about 3 weeks ago and have been very happy and the price was right for all of the features you get. This is my 2nd vizio tv upgrading from a 32 inch and the only thing negative I can say about this tv is that i wish you could adjust the sound to have a little more bass .
Outstanding value. Packed with premium features!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Three years ago, I was introduced to VIZIO's SmartCast M-Series HDTVs. At that time 4K (2160p) displays were the mainstream standard, with HDR (High Dynamic Range) being the new must-have feature for Ultra-HD home theater displays. Since then, 4K HDR Smart TV's with improved Stream/Casting features have become the market standard. For the 2021 model year, VIZIO has adapted by dividing their HDTV product lines between value-driven and premium-feature consumers. For under $300 you get a 58-inch 4K UHD display loaded with HDR10+ support, SmartCast 4.0 technology, 802.11n Dual Band Wi-Fi, and VIZIO's new V-Gaming Engine featuring Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and AMD FreeSync. In this review, I test the VIZIO V585x-H1 58″ 4K HDR Smart TV. This review covers the 58″ VIZIO V585x-H1 model, which joins a wide selection of value-priced 4K displays available in the following size classes: 40″, 43″ 50″, 55″, 58″, 60″ 65″, 70″, and 75″. VIZIO's entire V-Series shares identical performance hardware features and connectivity options, regardless of panel size-class. Each arrives with a one-year VIZIO Parts & Labor warranty, and free Lifetime Technical Support. Panels on VIZIO V-series displays deliver a 60 Hz effective refresh rate, and presented in 16:9 aspect ratio. VIZIO's proprietary Ultra Color Spectrum technology delivers a wide color gamut, and offers a dynamic contrast ratio of 200,000:1. VIZIO V-Series black levels are reproduced by a full-array local dimming solution, which is to be expected considering their value pricing. VIZIO's M- and P-series panels offer increasingly-impressive local dimming zones that deliver incredible black levels – for an added price. This 58″ VIZIO V585x-H1 model measures 51.38″ x 32.43″ x 10.24″ (1305.05 mm x 823.72 mm x 260.1 mm) with the stands installed, and weighs 32-lbs (14.6 Kg). Without the stands, this display measures 51.38″ x 30.02″ x 3.39″ (1305.05 mm x 762.51 mm x 86.11 mm) for panel only. If you plan to wall-mount this display, the VESA-compliant mounting pattern measures 300 mm x 300 mm, and accepts M6 screws up to 14 mm long. The viewable angle for V-Series panels is 178° horizontal, and 178° vertical. All 2021 V-Series home theater displays feature 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz dual band 802.11n Wi-Fi. Users wo are in need of Bluetooth or 802.11ac connectivity should look to VIZIO's M- or P-Series HDTVs. With such a streamlined feature package, power consumption is one area where the V-series shines. In standby mode, power consumption is a miserly half-watt or less for this 58″ display. During typical use, power consumption rises to only 90 Watts for the VIZIO V585x-H1 model. Energy Guide estimates $20 yearly cost based on 5 hours/day. Smart TV's have come a long way since their introduction, and VIZIO's SmartCast 4.0 technology proves that point with widespread compatibility for their budget V-series lineup. Every popular streaming app is supported, but if you find yourself wanting to ‘cast' to the TV from another device, it can be done from any of the following platforms: Android 4.4+, iOS 9.0+, Mac OS 10.9+, Chrome 28+, and Windows 7+. While offered to the value market, the backside of V-series Smart TVs deliver some premium features not typically available at this price segment. 4K HDR panels aside, you get a wide array of connectivity options: three HDMI 2.1 ports, Composite, Ethernet, USB 2.0, and an over-the-air TV tuner – something not available on many 4K displays. Two rear/bottom-firing 10W speakers offer decent audio output, with good mid and high-range reproduction. Outputs on the V-series include three HDMI 2.1 ports with eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel), a Digital Audio output (TOSLINK, S/PDIF), and an Analog Audio output to enable sound to a wide variety of legacy home theater devices. The USB 2.0 port is specified for storage devices formatted with a FAT32 partition, but NTFS also works. VIZIO's SmartCast mobile app is available for those who keep a device handy at all times, but for everyone else the XRT140 remote control is more than capable. This remote adds six quick-launch buttons at the top, along with a Watch Free button to browse over-the-air and streaming stations. Two Duracell AAA batteries are included for the remote. If all else fails, a basic set of power, volume, and input select buttons are available at the side of the display. Much of 2020 has been spent at home, with plenty of free time consumed by seeking relief in front of the TV. These conditions push value to the forefront of consumer concerns, and place added interest in the market segment. VIZIO's 2021 V-series models account for this, and strike the ideal balance of premium features with budget-friendly pricing. For under $300 you get a 58-inch 4K UHD display with HDR10+ support, versatile casting compatibility, full streaming service support, a wide variety of input and output connections, and VIZIO's new V-Gaming Engine featuring Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) with AMD FreeSync. As I evaluated the VIZIO V585x-H1, it was difficult to avoid comparisons to the M-series products that I already own. Really, there were only two standout features missing from V-series: 1) Wireless-AC compatibility, which, if I'm being honest, has no perceivable impact on streaming service quality when compared against Wireless-N, and 2) local dimming zones for darker black levels, which are actually still nice and dark with full-array local dimming. I've handled this 58″ VIZIO V585x-H1 display more than most people will handle their home theater television during its entire product lifetime. I've wall mounted it, and moved it to three different table top locations. I've turned it over several times, and handled it while going up and down stairs. This display is very rigid, and quite durable. VIZIO provides a one-year warranty to the original purchaser against defect in materials and workmanship for non-commercial usage and ninety (90) days of commercial use. Limited technical support is provided for the life of this product. If a SmartCast M-series product covered by warranty is defective, VIZIO will either repair or replace the unit. Consumers may reach VIZIO technical support at techsupport@vizio.com, or by telephone at 877-698-4946. In conclusion, I recommend the 2021 VIZIO V-series displays for budget-minded consumers wanting a versatile 4K Smart HDTV with HDR10+ and a full compliment of streaming services and casting compatibility. Heading into Black Friday priced under $300 for this 58″ model, you cannot possibly go wrong.
Love Smartcast
We bought this tv to use in our motor home and has worked well. The only problem with this tv is it does not like the back of the tv to get hot. With it sitting in front of a window the power supply or something overheats and the tv will not power up. Other than that and a not so good speaker it's been fine.
Love the value and the tech.
I have always been a value shopper, and am patient enough to wait for the next generation before replacing all of my TVs. Well, Vizio got it right with this line of TVs. I love the integrated Chromecast, the quality of the picture, and the price. What I like most are all of the integration options. I can link it to Google Home, Alexa, use my iphone, Ipad, etc to control it. Lots of options. I am still a fan of using a HTPC (and wireless touch pad keyboard) for web-related content or browser streaming, but all of the Pluto content and free movies reduce the frequency in which I use the PC input. Thanks Vizio for partnering with all of the right players to make up a complete ecosystem. Nothing out there compares.
Vizio 4K is a great product
I replaced an older 32" 720P Vizio unit that I purchased when LED system first came out at a much higher price than I purchased my V405-H10 for. I waited until I could find a 4K unit that was a size I could put on the same wall mount that my 32" system used. In fact did not purchase it for the larger size. Also purchased the Vizio V51-H6 36" 5.1 Channel Home Theater Soundbar System which took it to the next level of viewing experience, and the combined price still came in under what I purchased the 32" 720P TV set for those many year ago.
Great TV and smart!
This is my first smart TV and it's been super easy and smooth. The only downside is when I use airplay to watch Disney+, it doesn't stream as well as it does with a HDMI wire. It's probably because of the wifi, even tho my wifi speed is fast already. I hope it can update to watch all the streaming app without using airplay in the future.
Perfect Solution For Everyday Living
So, in case your wondering yes I bought this TV and my oh my this TV is nothing short of excellent. Not only is it compatible with everything under the sun but it come with all the right features any smart shopper would enjoy. All in the comfort of your own home. My Visio is the definition of a smart TV every TV company should adopt the standards features and capability of this TV. I am in heaven with my Vizio.
Fantastic smart TV value
I love my Vizio SmartCast TV. It's an excellent value. It supports most popular entertainment apps, Chromecast, and AirPlay. It integrates with Google Assistant, Alexa, and HomeKit. The quality is fantastic and the customer service is top-notch. I would highly recommend Vizio as a brand.
Love this TV
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had this TV for a few years and think that this has been the best TV I have owned. Vizio has been our longest lasting TVs of other brands and this Smart TV has been better performing than our other TVs.
Great picture
I bought this vizio UHD 4k 65" a month ago and love it the picture is great audio is perfect can't say enough the only down side is, I stream all my channels and with any other smart tv you can't get cbs or nbc or fox so I have a roku for my streaming service other than that I am very pleased
