STAY AWAY

Worst TV ever. It was my first time purchasing a VIZIO tv and I was excited. However, after about 3 months it started lagging and continuously messing up. It would freeze, switch from an app to the main screen while still playing the audio of the show I was watching. I wanted to return it but it was past the return policy. I tried contacting VIZIO customer service and it was the worst customer service I've had. The person told me the basics of rebooting it while I told him it was more than just an off and on problem. He told me I would just have to deal with it. Horrible TV over all. Works for about 3 months and then it is useless.

GREAT TV with many tweaking options available

First off, the VIZIO V505-H19 has analog audio out via RCA jacks so you can easily connect it to any conventional stereo amp and speakers via a FIXED or VARIABLE audio output. Unlike some TVs, the external sound is in perfect sync with the built-in speakers if you turn off Volume Leveling on the audio menu. If not, there is a slight delay. The built in speakers are quite good for their small size. Sound is clear and natural. A 5-band audio EQUALIZER is built-in if you want to tweak the audio quality. The TV offers 4-way IMAGE POSITION and IMAGE SIZING to eliminate crap that sometimes shows up on the top or bottom of the screen. The TV also provides a color tuner to tweak the overall color balance of the screen beside the standard settings on the main picture menus. The VIZIO"s built-in digital, over-the-air tuner is good and far better than a SONY 900 that I had briefly and returned for a number of issues. STRONGLY RECOMMEND the VIZIO V505-H19 and note that buying it at SAMs CLUB provides you with a 3 year warranty at no extra cost.

Favorite TV on the market

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had a lot of TVs, smart and not, but this one is by far my favorite. The homescreen is one of the fastest to load and easier to navigate. I will only purchase VIZIO smart TVs from here on out due to my experience with this one.

Great 4K picture

We needed a good quality 4K TV to fit a cabinet that will only accommodate a TV with a 40 inch diagonal. The VIZIO 40" refurbished was the only available 4K option. It came within a few days in the original packaging, and looked like a new one to me. Setup was easy and the picture is outstanding.

picture great-channel list lacking

when I bought this I assumed a smart tv was at least as good as a roku tv. I was wrong. Many of the channels I want to watch are not available including discover plus which I watch all the time. I had to put my old roku stick back on it. That was a big disappointment.

Hello dannan, this TV uses our SmartCast Platform which offers a host of built in apps, as well as support for Google's Chromecast, Apple's AirPlay 2, and voice support for SIRI, Google Home, and Alexa. You are not able to manually download additional apps, however new apps are added to the platform often. If you find there is an app you want to watch that is not on SmartCast you may be able to cast it using Chromecast or Apple AirPlay from your phone or mobile device. Very disappointed in the quality of this TV.

I had the TV for two weeks and every day for two weeks I had to reset the TV because I would get black screen with sound. I even reset back to factory settings and I would still get a black screen when a streamed movie would come out of a commercial break. It was clearly a back light or capacitor issue and not a streaming issue because I was still receiving a signal with sound.
