I read the good reviews and I read the bad ones. The good far outweighed the bad. We went to look and liked it. Honestly, I don't know what TV the people who wrote bad review had, but it wasn't the V505. So easy to set up and we are in our 70's. It took longer to download the updates than it did to connect and complete the set up! Love the picture, love the sound, love the features. We LOVE this TV!

First of all, I am not tech savvy. I purchased this tv, and hoped the kids would help me set it up. No assistance needed! It was well packaged, and once I assembled the legs, and attached my dvd player, it was time to turn it on. Easy menus, easy to find the wifi. A few days later the Visio sound bar arrived. Plug and play! Since I ordered a Visio sound bar, I can run the sound bar from the tv remote!

It has a great picture for all content types, supports all HDR formats, works awesome for gaming, and supports Dolby sound. It is a great looking set too. The V series is really an incredible value! For a more detailed analysis, continue reading my full review. Build Quality: The build quality of this set is great, and the feet feel solid and sturdy. The bezel looks good and provides a border on the outside of the screen without distracting attention away from the screen itself. Overall Picture Quality: This picture on this set looks really great for movies, TV, and games. I viewed content in most popular formats: 480p, 720p, 1080p, 4k, and 4k HDR. I didn't notice any issues with any of these formats. The images were displayed properly in every case, and I never had any problems. The contrast ratio is very impressive on the V series. Black uniformity is great, and the blacks are very dark. Colors are bold and bright, especially with HDR content. The screen handles reflections well, so that lights in the background shouldn't affect the overall experience. The colors look good right out of the box, so I didn't need to change the color or contrast settings before I could start enjoying the 70 inch V series. HDR Content: The Vizio V series fully supports all popular HDR formats. The supported formats are HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG. Vizio is one of the only manufacturers to utilize every format, which in my opinion is a huge benefit not only to the V series, but Vizio in general. I was very impressed with the HDR movies that I watched on this set. With bright colors, beautiful highlights and an overall impressive picture, the V series displays HDR content very well. Gaming: Gaming on my Xbox Series X felt crisp and games looked great on the V Series. Input lag is very low on this TV, which is a great thing when gaming. I play a lot of first-person shooters, and playing on the 70 inch V series felt like a dream. This is a great TV for gaming! Sound: The V series has a decent sounding set of speakers, and also has the ability to connect to a receiver or soundbar. It supports Dolby sound, including Dolby Digital via ARC, and Dolby Atmos via eARC. I have my V series set up with a Vizio 5.1 soundbar, and the sound quality is incredible! Inputs & Connections: This TV has 3 HDMI inputs, one composite input, one USB input, one cable antenna input, and an ethernet plug if you don't want to connect via wireless. It also features an optical audio out. ARC and eARC are both supported via one of the HDMI inputs. Entertainment Menu (SmartCast): Vizio uses SmartCast, which is a great entertainment interface for all of your popular movie and TV apps. All your Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, Apple TV and more can be found here. There are many apps available to add to SmartCast as well, and the ability to customize the menu to your liking is nice. Overall, it is an excellent, easy to use interface.

I love the fact that its so compatible with my Yamaha 4K receiver and the PS4 Pro. Love the all the features like, smartcast, airplay and chromecast built-in.

I bought this tv and right out of the box it did not work, the home screen was just black and aside from the Netflix button working, almost every other button on the remote would black screen or turn off the tv and freeze the buttons for a few minutes. I exchanged it for another one thinking I had a lemon and encountered the exact same issue. I contacted Vizio support and the dude I talked with helped me through a couple of resets (which I had tried previously), and nothing worked. I was told that there is an update coming soon that should fix it but they had no timeline and it "could be today, could be in a few months". Luckily the update happened a couple days later right before I was going to return it and so far I am very happy with the TV. Easy to navigate the home screen and the picture adjustment is great for gaming. My only complaint at this point is there is no HBO app. Hoping it holds up for a few years.

My previous TV was real old, so I needed to find something new. After looking around and reading reviews, I had this delivered (COVID). For the price, this TV is above grade. I stopped watching my cable, and just used the apps on the TV. The only critique I have of this, is when watching the apps, the volume needs to be turned up quite a bit, but I will be buying a soundbar next. If you're looking for something cheap, I would definitely recommend this one.

I purchased a slightly smaller version on the Vizio after a divorce and needed something on a budget. When it came time to purchase a larger one and let the kids take over the smaller one, I purchase another Vizio. Chromecast is very easy to use, we love apple air play and there are plenty of ports for all of our accessories. My sons Xbox looks fantastic on this screen as well.

So far the picture is great. But the smart cast system has several problems. When you first load the tv on it gets stuck in the process of constantly updating and restarting. I have also had many times where it gets stuck on watch free or other input settings and won't go back to smartcast. Overall frustrating to have so many problems with a brand new “smart tv”..

It's my first smart tv. And it's easy to use once I learned everything. I had to call the toll free number the first day because I didn't know how to get from smart cast back to regular programming but the guy on the phone was so nice and told how to use the remote.

Resolution is great. Audio is good like all flat TVs. Gets a ARC compatible Sound Bar with Sub Woofer for great sound. Great screen mirroring and casting from Android or iPhone or tablets. Integrates well with Alexa and Google Home too. I have no Cons on this product. All flat TV are white foggy once more than 45 degrees from direct in front. Original wanted 65 inch in my large 20x20 family room but the 55 inch was gift from Ms Claus and actually best size for the room.
