Not enough suction power

My 2 dogs got this for me as an early Christmas gift. My youngest became a tripod last year right after I replaced my carpet with bamboo flooring. I bought several runners to give her traction and this vacuum is perfect for them and the flooring. Doesn’t touch my old school carpet in my bedroom. I can get my living room and kitchen vacuumed in no time. Love that it has 2 battery packs. I usually can get everything done with one but if I need a little of the second one it holds the charge until I use it again a day or two later and by then the other one is fully charged. It also works well on indoor/outdoor carpet.

I realllllly wanted to like this vacuum. Performance wise it's OK for hardwood floor, Picks up hair and dust and dirt ok as long as you're on high. The problem is when your on high the batteries go dry in a hurry. To vacuum my kitchen, den, laundry room, master bedroom and master bath took all of 1 battery and 50% of the 2nd battery. The other issue is the little lever / cover to remove the roller in the head is very easy to accidently hit on something and make the roller pop out. The final straw for me is one day I went to vacuum , I inserted battery 1 , it reads 100% charge , I turn the vacuum on and it runs for 10 seconds shuts off and show battery at zero, I swap out battery # 2 , it also shows 100% charge , I start the vacuum and same thing , it runs for 10 seconds , shuts off and shows the battery as zero. Ok I was done, boxed it back up and returned it to Sams Its cheap especially for having 2 batterys but you quickly learn WHY it's cheap.

I've had this for a couple of months now. The big selling point was that it came with an extra battery. If you have carpet, get a shark. This thing does not like any sort of pile or nap or any texture of any kind, I get better results with a broom. On bare floors, it works very well. Picks up small items, not sure on sand yet, but for crumbs and general stuff on the floor, it does well. It does get up to the baseboards well, and it does come with attachments. But it is definitely not powerful by any means unless it's on high, then the battery drains really fast. I can barely get through my small kitchen on the high setting before the battery drains. Since the main tube is narrow, it does tend to get clogged. Getting it unclogged is an entire ordeal because you need something long and thin and flexible to go into the tube to find the obstruction and remove it. It does work well on my couch and car seats with the smaller head. And it did do fairly well on cleaning the ceiling vents. So, yeah, for carpets, it's a no, bare floors yes.

Returning today. I have a rescue pup that sheds alot. Does not work on pet hair.

Brush on floor unit kept turning on and off after one day of use. Returned.
