Who knew?
Diet Dr. Pepper is the absolute best tasting sugar-free/low calorie beverage there is. While most “Diet” sodas have a very distinct metallic flavor, Diet Dr. Pepper doesn’t! It’s the one no sugar soda that tastes just as good as the original “non-diet” soda.
I love Diet Dr.Pepper and Diet Coke
What can I say that hasn’t already been said before. Diet Dr. Pepper and Diet Coke are my two favorite soda’s/pop ever created. I am usually more of a Diet Coke kinda gal, but lately I’ve been craving a Dr. Pepper. . To be honest, I hadn’t drank a diet Dr. Pepper in ages, so one day on a whim I purchased a pack, and oh my goodness it instantaneously brought back all of my childhood memories . Growing up, my parents only ever used to buy Dr. Pepper, never Coke or Pepsi, just good old Dr. Pepper. An iced cold Dr. Pepper on a hot summer day is exactly how I spent my summers. My mother m used to at a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and make DP floats. So delicious. You have to try them. I now get to share them with my grand daughter. Diet DP floats are just so delicious. So give it a try and enjoy! #DrPepper #dietsoda #memories #dessert #summer
Crappy Dr Dr Pepper.
Lately I can’t find any Dr Dr Pepper that taste good at all. I’m confiding out all the stores in my area only have Dr Dr Pepper that is dated Feb 24. And it all taste like crap. I’m very disappointed to say the least. The company needs to recall that batch and refund me money. As I’ve bought several 12 packs & cubes. But found out if they have that date. You may as well throw it away. Or don’t buy it at all. Because it’s a huge waste of money.
First time buyer
Honestly not one of my favorite drinks I absolutely love Dr Pepper but diet Dr Pepper was just literally not made for me we buy it four some of our family members I like to drink it they enjoy it not much caffeine but to me it honestly just hates completely different and not of my liking but it’s affordable and I mean you can find it anywhere any size
Oreo-flavor Dr Pepper Sugar-Free would by purchase
I'm a DP drinker of more than 60 years - about to celebrate BD #69 in two weeks! Around 20 years ago, my doctor began the appeal to start removing as much real-sugar product from diet as possible - especially items with corn syrup/high fructose levels. Switch to Diet DP was fairly seamless - really the only true "diet" product that retains as close to the same flavor as regular DP!! That said, I don't stray from Diet DP very often - mainly when I find myself somewhere that doesn't serve DP products at all. Along with switching to Diet DP, I have begun a gradual tapering of how many either 16.9 or 20 oz. products I allow myself per day - usually only one, but am now tapering to 3-4 a week if possible due to increased glucose levels. I was at a convenience store last week and saw a new flavor of Dr Pepper [in fact I believe there were 3-4 new "flavored" DP brands in the freezer. The one that caught my attention was Oreo Dr. Pepper,Sugar-Free which were packaged in 12 oz. cans. I knew that I wanted to try this flavored DP drink, being that one of my other "food/drink addictions" are Oreos! In addition, the tming worked out really well because my younger sister and B-I-L were in town for a short visit. I purchased 4 - 12 oz cans of our Oreo flavored DP Sugar-Free and brought them home so we could sample them and see if this was a good blending of two of my/our favorite things, or if it ma not meet up to expectations.!?! BTW- I very rarely stray from the original flavor due to the fat that I drink Diet DP for one reason only - I like the way it tastes - and I don't want that "taste" to be changed or altered in an way if possible [I believe we call this a 'traditionalist']. Finally to the point of this review: After dinner that evening as the four of us [Wife & I and Sister & Brother in Law] were sitting and talking - and letting dinner tastes & smells settle - I brought out the four DP Oreo Sugar-Free flavored cans and, basically, became an interviewer/reviewer of this new product known as Oreo Dr Pepper Sugar-Free. I asked all to treat it as close to a testing environment as possible [without trying to be weird or pretentious about it. (BTW - none of the four of us are alcohol drinkers in any form). Anyway - 1) sniff/aroma test before actually tasting the beverage product; 2) brief sip test and write down initial thoughts on aroma and taste; 3) - brief fuller taste test and write down how closely the product tasted like Dr Pepper, if it was possible to taste an Oreo flavor at all - and to what level; if the flavor was not distinctively of Dr Pepper, what was the flavor each person was getting from the three simple tests of our survey?? Technically, there was a fourth question of my survey, and that was "would you purchase this product again - even if it were merely to do another fair sampling of the product?? So - our initial taste testing of the new product Oreo flavored Dr Pepper Sugar-Free had the following results: Wife - [not a real traditionalist, nor as big a fan as I regrading DP] - Sniff test = sensed first a chocolate smell (faint) and then a little stronger vanilla smell - ultimately it reminded her of the smell of a chocolate chip cookie or brownie as it was cooling; both sip & taste test = were the same - she felt it tasted much like a creme soda drink. Brother-In-Law - [a regular Diet DP drinker] - Sniff test = a creme' type of aroma, but not particularly similar to a creme soda smell - mainly that it didn't have an aroma like Dr Pepper at all. Sip & Taste tests = both the same impressions - again the flavoring of some type of creme' product, but not really distinctive enough to tell - and did not taste anh of the 'traditional' Dr Pepper flavorings that cause him to drink Dr Pepper/Diet Dr Pepper in the first place. Sister - [an occasional drinker of Diet DP, but also drinks Coke Zero] - Sniff test = she smelled/sensed some chocolate aromas, and felt that at least the aroma led her to believe that it might not taste like a "diet or sugar free product. Her sip & taste tests = pretty much mirrored her responses to the sniff test. She tasted some faint DP taste, but actually couldn't really tell if was a diet Dr Pepper product, or a diet Coke product. Finally, it was my turn to review [as stated - a traditionalist, long-time DP & diet DP drinker] Sniff test = really not a distinctive smell for me (admittedly a sufferer from hay fever and exposure to ragweed which is high this time of year in Texas - so olfactory senses are not always accurate). I really did not expect to get much aroma smell knowing my own lack of ability to discern many smells at all. Sip Test = I suppose I was disappointed from the beginning of the sip test that I did not taste ANY distinctive aroma or taste, either a Dr Pepper nor an Oreo aroma or taste!! The more full taste test proved to be even more disappointing, in that I could not make out any discernable taste or aroma that reminded me of either of the two food/drink combos that I/we were searching for in this taste testing experiment. Eventually, before completely finishing the product, I was able to discern a bit of a chocolate overtone flavor, but never any type of aroma/taste overall satisfaction that I was, in fact, drinking and tasting a product that was equally discernable to be both a classic Dr Pepper taste & aroma, but that or an Oreo cookie taste of mixed Chocolate & vanilla creme' filling. At the end of my "Very Unofficial Product Review of Oreo-Flavored Dr Pepper Sugar-Free", I aske one final question of my three family members and myself - "Would you buy this product if it were available in regular Grocery and Convenience stores close to you?? Unfortunately, the overwhelming answer to this question was ( and remains to be) NO!!!
A lighter version of the classic Dr. Pepper
I always felt regular Dr. Pepper had a really strong medicinal (?) sort of aftertaste BUT not with this version. It is like a lite version. + Hint of Dr. Pepper aftertaste + Doesn’t taste sugary + No calories! + Decorative can (Jurassic Park promotion?)
Getting too expensive!
As of right now, the price for a six-pack is over $5.00 when the price only 3 months ago was $3.28. I'll just downgrade to a private-label brand at this point. The price vs taste difference is starting to make me consider alternatives and there isn't any way the manufacturing cost increased that much in a month.
The best pop I've ever had in 60 years of my life!
I wasn't even drinking any kind of pop because I'm not fond of it anymore. I tried Cherry dr. Pepper on a fluke and fell in love! I don't drink any other kind of Pop if I can't get Cherry dr. Pepper and sometimes it's hard in my little town to get it. I have asked all of the managers in the three stores that might sell it to get more in. I did try Chjerry Coke and wild Cherry Pepsi (which was a laugh) they are not at all satisfying like Cherry dr. Pepper is. I have told everybody that I know that they ought to try it. If you come to my house that's all you will get offered unless you just want water. I could go on and on I really could because I'm so impressed with a pump tasting so good that I wanted more I wanted a cold one I wanted one when I went to bed I would wanted Cherry dr. Pepper at my birthday party. I'm sure you get the hint.
Russian roulette
I’ve been a loyal customer for years, but honestly, over the past six months, the quality control of your product has been a huge letdown. At this point, I don’t even have expectations anymore. Instead of opening a can and getting the quality taste I used to rely on, it’s like a gamble—I never know what I’m going to get. Buying a 12-pack has become a disappointment because more than half the cans taste like plain carbonated water. I’m so frustrated. I’m done with you guys.
Why do my 16.9 oz bottles smell like mildew?
I have been dealing with the same situation for a year now. At first it was with the small 8-oz bottles and I would open one and it would smell a mold or mildew type smell like old laundry you forgot to take out of the washing machine. Now, it's with the 16.9 oz bottles. I went through two six packs and every bottle I cracked open smelled just like that A nauseating gag smell. I'm not about to drink those. As I would come across one I pour it out toss the bottle. I saved a few of the bottles and I'm going to be calling yet again. My problem with Dr pepper and their customer service is that the only thing they can do is send you out a coupon for a free 12-pack can Dr pepper of your choosing. I don't drink cans and they assured me that there would be no problem for Walmart to do a exchange instead of getting the cans just go get the 16.9 oz bottles which cost a dollar and a half less and Walmart called every member of management and nobody would accept it for anything other than a 12-pack of cans I don't drink anything out of a can. So, I left with my four 12-pack of cans and just took them to the food bank. I wasn't going to be able to use them so I gave them to somebody that could. Hopefully somebody got to enjoy them because I'm still out of like $16 and I'm on disability and $16 is a lot of money. So, I'm going to be calling back today after going through four six packs and finding multiple disgusting smelling gag me sodas and I don't even know why because all I'm going to do is get some coupon that I won't be able to use. I'll just be donating everything to somebody else. At this point if they cannot refund me the money not counting the other two times that I've called for the same problem but this time if I do not get a resolution that is acceptable I'm going to start saving every bottle and I won't be pouring them out because there has to be something that is in this that is toxic that it should not be consumed. I have never had to sniff to see if I could drink a soda that I've been drinking since I was a child except back then it was just regular Dr pepper. At this point, they're not good for me anyway so I'm probably going to switch over to tea and clear sodas such as diet 7 up because I'm tired of throwing away my hard-earned money. I don't call every single time I get a couple better mild dude but today when I sat and poured one after another after another down the drain was the last straw. They need to come up with less excuses and somebody that has a way to test the bottles when they come up like that for them can see if there's some type of chemical reaction going on in the bottle because this could be something like I said toxic. Number one I'm allergic to mold I wasn't about to take a sip out of that number one the smell made me almost vomit. I've smelt mildew towels that didn't smell this bad. I've gotten every excuse as in well sometimes when they're on the trucks maybe they get under pressure and a little bit of condensation gets into the cap and yeah okay if it does that's still not my problem it's mildew it's mold it's something and it's something that if it makes you want to throw up is not fit for human consumption. It went down the garbage disposal. I didn't even want the bottles in my apartment The trash was about to run so I took and tossed them out. I had to scour my hands because my hands smelled like it where I would crack it open. It's so disappointing to give up something you love so much but at this point I'm losing money and now I'm going to have to go to the grocery store to get something else to drink.#angryinalabama
