[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shark power detect 2 in1 is very impressive. The robot itself is a little bit bigger than the previous shark I had but what a change in innovation!! It looks very sturdy. First of all you have to get the shark app, and after charging the vacuum you sync the robot to the app. You prepare your house and start a running for the vacuum to map your house. I was so impressed with this first step, much more accurate, detailed than the previous shark or brand I have. When this step is done you are ready to go. I wanted to try to mop 2 specific rooms far away from each other. The shark started by filling up its tank, and it went straight to the first room. The sound is the best of the shark I own. It did its job and went to my other room. Everything went perfectly. I was so surprised when it came back to its base and said, “now drying pad”, yes! It dried the pad! And for the first time ever I didnt clean with an other vacuum before using the mop mode. So the robot vacuumed and moped at the same time!!. I then did the whole house and something fantastic happened, the robot went to its base for a refill and went back to work. It was my worst nightmare, when you prepare the whole house, you put your vacuum mope and leave the house, you come back and the robot had been stuck for ever because of the lack of water. It is NOT going to happen with this one!! If you decide to use the robot without the moping function, the mop pad will drops and stays on the base. It self emptied the dust. So it’s self empty and its self fills up with water, crazy right! It is also able to lift up the robot to be able to go over or avoid objects. You also have an odor neutralizer with a very nice scent. This review is so long but there is so many good things to say. I am in love with my vacuum!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really think every family, especially if you have children and/or pets, should invest in a good robot vacuum. Shark PowerDetect is amazing to have when you’re constantly sweeping and mopping the floors. The set up was quick and the app was able to map out my rooms fast and efficiently. I immediately used it once the mapping was done. I was really surprised how weak this actually cleans. This is able to get to different types of floors without getting stuck and keeps cleaning as it moves. The mopping feature is amazing and left my floors so clean. I love that it dries the mopping pad itself. The noise level isn’t bad either. It’s what you’d expect from a vacuum but not quite as loud. You can literally come home each day and have your house vacuumed and mopped.

I get so excited to turn it on and watch it - it cleans so well and on a full charge it will clean your entire home. It is easy to either mop or vacuum (low maintenance) and it is so quiet. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] TLDR; In theory, the product sounds great, however, has several bugs as it relates to the mopping feature. So much so, you are better off not using the feature at all and just using this product for vacuuming, at which point, you could buy a nicer Shark vacuum for a lot less. As a baseline, I have used multiple other robot vacuums (one by Roomba, and one by Shark) before using the Shark PowerDetect 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum and Mop with Never Touch Base. In general, I have always loved robot vacuums as they are efficient and keep my house clean with minimal effort. I did like the Shark PowerDetect, however I ran into a handful of major technical and design issues. I'm not trying to be overly critical, as the vacuum is innovative and has a lot of potential if these issues were to be addressed. Mapping Bugs To start, I ran into a major bug relating to house mapping. House mapping is when the vacuum explores your house and creates a layout. With my other Shark robot vacuum, I was able to make adjustments to the map such as moving the sides of the rooms and creating subsections within my house. However, with this vacuum, it automatically tries to define the boundaries of the rooms in my house without complete accuracy, and does not allow for any manual adjustments. This seems to be more of a software / app issue, as it was consistent on both my android and apple devices. Unreliable Mopping Second, Shark's mopping technology also has many bugs. In order to use the mopping feature, I have to start and stop the mopping "job" at least 2-3 times for a proper start-up. Otherwise, when starting a mopping job, I ran into issues like: (1) erroring out after 10 minutes of trying to fill the robot's water resevoir, (2) the vacuum would arrive at the designated start point and clean the same spot until there is a massive puddle of water, and (3) leak water all over the base and bottom of the vacuum, soaking the components and dust collection bin. Overall, still seems to be more of a software issue that could fixed via an update. However, until then, the mopping feature is extremely unreliable and useless. Design Flaw Lastly, I am unsure if this is an engineering oversight or a defective product, but water from the mopping feature intermixes with the dust collected from the vacuum, creating a muddy paste within the dustbin area and within the filters. This cakes and coats everything, blocks filters, and creates a hair / dirt mess all over the internal components. Trying to clean this was very difficult and at this point, I don't plan to use the mopping feature anymore as it creates more work than saves. This ultimately leaves me with a normal robot vacuum which I could get for a lot less investment. Overall Rating Below is how I would rate the product in the following categories. This is considering my experience with other robot vacuums, as well as the issues noted above. Overall Cleaning Performance - 2 out of 5       Vacuum - 3 out of 5, not as thorough as vacuum-only robots but still gets the job done       Mopping - 1 out of 5, feature unusable due to bugs and design flaws Battery Life - 5 out of 5, can clean a 900 sq.ft. Apartment on a single charge (however this product has a feature to go charge and resume cleaning once battery is restored) Noise Level - 3 out of 5, wouldn't run while watching TV or sleeping, but not loud if in another room Maintenance - 1 out of 5, requires regular cleaning when using both mop and vacuum features Versatility - 2 out of 5, good on different types of flooring (rug / wood), not good for using both mop and vacuum features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Okay I really enjoy my new friend Max Vacstappen, but he does have some quirks. I have a one floor apartment, and I set the vacuum up in my kitchen. It needs to be set up on hard floors, which was a challenge for me to find a plug that would work because the built in cord is only about a yard long. I ended up having to use an extension cord. The battery life is long enough to clean my one bedroom apartment, but not longer than that. Despite using the "never stuck" feature, the vacuum has gotten stuck on half of its cleaning missions. I think the features in the app are really nice for being able to clean one room at a time or one space, which I have used to spot clean heavy used spots. It was easy to set up and the app is easy to use. It is not initially intuitive how to clean out the vacuum and as someone with long hair, I did need to clean some hair out of the roller on the bottom. You can schedule out when you want cleanings which I think is a great feature for regular routines. Having both the mop and vac features is AWESOME, but I generally assign a room to mop individually rather than do a whole apartment cleaning Overall, I like the vacuum and enjoy having it, but I wouldn't trust it to run without navigational quirks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I run this every night after my kids go to bed. My floors need to be cleaned everyday and not having to do myself is really helpful! And I really appreciate that it sweeps and then mops and all of this can be done through the app. It’s not loud at all ( at least to me) and battery life has not been an issue.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was very easy to assemble and has an app that tracks it while it maps your home. It can sense the difference between hard floor and carpet and switch from moping to vacuuming. It is surprisingly quiet.
