Makes my old TV new again

I bought the Ultra to use with an older (but still 4K) TV. The addition of HDR/Dolby Vision has made the picture on my old TV look great. A big improvement at a low cost. Easy to install and a way to keep current on video technology improvements without buying a new TV every few years.

If anyone's looking to cut the cord Roku is the way. I have one for each of my televisions. It also works fantastic with Tablo which is an antenna TV DVR hooked into your network. Through Roku. You can hook to all free and paid networks through Roku easily.. any technical difficulties is easily addressed and rectified through roku's tech support via phone.

Excellent device and easy to use

We replaced an older model with this one and are really loving it! The ability to use a Bluetooth headset and connect it directly to the unit instead of the remote means the remote doesn't need charging nearly as often. This unit is also MUCH faster than our previous model. Unlike past models, we've had this one for several months and it has never locked up, unlike older ones that needed to be unplugged about every 3 weeks. We originally bought this to replace a 15-,year- old one that got zapped by a power surge, but we loved it so much that we bought another one to upgrade the other unit in our house.

Remote issue

I just received the roku ultra 4850 with rechargeable backlit remote. Wanted to give my daughter the older one. The problem is that I cannot get the new remote to control the volume and mute on my TV and had no problem with the other remote which is a battery powered voice remote. Have tried the remedies suggested online and it still doesn't work. Now I'm sorry I ordered this new model with rechargeable remote. The player is good but the remote not so much. Have to sometimes press buttons multiple times to get it to work. Would not suggest buying this model with the current remote.

Best television streaming device

Love the Roku, and have purchased several over the past several years. Roku streaming is fast and high def. This device doesn't need line- of-site with the remote (my Roku is mounted behind the tv). Each new incarnation of the Roku that timely includes updates to make the experience of streaming better and better!

My Roku Ultra Has Been Perfect For Over 7 Years!!!

My Roku Ultra has been working flawlessly for more than seven years! My 2021 Roku TV can't compete with the audio/video technology, features, and high-speed performance of my 2017 Roku Ultra device... I would definitely recommend buying the latest Roku Ultra edition to anyone who wants to experience a flawless streaming entertainment solution!!!

Roku Ultra Works Great!

I’m very pleased with how the latest Roku Ultra streaming devices work on our four TVs. We had older Roku streaming devices and they were slow when we wanted to fast forward through shows. With the newest (2025) devices, we no longer have that problem. I eventually purchased four Roku Ultras for our TVs over the past six months. Set up on each TV has to be done individually (for each streaming service, like Netflix, MAX, YouTube,etc) and requires a little time, but if you have your passcodes at hand, with your smart phone, it can be completed without any major issues.

Old TV, new experience

I was having trouble with my Samsung TV, Was trying to get streaming services and had problems. Called Samsung and they said I bought a 2016 TV, and update to have hardware function I wanted was 2017. They suggested I buy a Roku Ultra and no more problems. My old TV became my new TV with Roku upgrade. Satisfied.

My ROKU would stop working every time you changed the channel. I switched out the HDMI cable (because that was the context of the error message). Same thing. Power cycled the fiber modem and router. Same thing. Checked to make sure the computer worked in the TV HDMI port and it worked as normal. Power cycled the ROKU device. Same thing. Called tech support and let the tech know what I had already done. He had me repeat a couple of the things I had already done. He sent me a new one and I received it promptly. Very satisfied. Great tech support.

Great product and will be purchasing more Roku's to replace my cable boxes. One big irritant is there is no way for me on the live apps like Spectrum and Roku live a channel number directly. It takes forever to scroll through to a channel and there seams to be no way to speak into the remote a channel number. Hope there is a update to this in the future!
