I've had different versions of the Roku, most recently getting the Ultra and I have to say we love our Roku streaming unit! Being an audiophile we have to have the best streaming service and Roku is certainly it! Sure we've considered other offerings but nothing beats ROKU!

The hardware is awesome. It is the best streamer and the remote is great. Backlit and no batteries is great. My only complaint is the freaking commercials all over the interface. Get that crap of my screen! I have learned to ignore all the junk and go straight to my apps. Like I said, almost the greatest.

This is my 5th Roku, not because I had problems but because of the improvements successive models offered. The home screen is very easy to use and customize to my liking. The new remote is now backlit which I love. It also has added a few of the most popular streaming services quick buttons. It has a voice command option which I don't use so I can't comment on it. This new model has also a new processor, so the apps open much quicker than the previous model. I only wish this had a direct view choice so you could let other equipment process the video to the display, but this is a rare feature in streamers so not really a negative.

I am glad that I purchased 2 differnt Roku Ultra units. I had dish network before and was paying 170 a month for it, 3 things that I didnt like about Dish, number 1 was the cost, number 2 was you couldnt just pick out say 25 channels and pay for the ones that you wanted to pay for you had to pay for 300 plus channels that you didnt care about, and number 3 was every time that a storm hit or come by you lost your reception, I had that more times than I care to mention. So far I like my Roku Ultras, I can get tons of free channels and can opt to pay for subscriptions of providers of my choice.

I’ve used Roku’s for the last 10+ years and I bought this newest model because they claim it’s 30% faster, I’ve got ATT fiber internet that’s 5 G and WiFi 6 and this box is slow at doing anything, I can’t say for sure but it seems like the Roku’s I used 6-7 years ago were faster. The only nice thing is the backlit remote. But it makes the battery run down faster

I have owned several smart TVs that had Roku built in as the operating system and became a big fan of its clear, simple and intuitive features compared to the typically cluttered, unintuitive systems that come with most TVs. I wanted to purchase an OLED TV and was unable to find one with Roku built in. After some research, I discovered that I could buy either a Roku stick or a Roku Ultra and use it in place of the TV operating system. After further research, I learned that the Ultra device is very competitive with the best add on systems in the market (like Apple TV and Firestick, etc.) and at a decent price for what you get. I particularly like the rechargeable and backlit remote. I also was careful to make sure the Ultra would work with all of top video systems like Dolby Vision since my new OLED TV is designed to provide a stunning picture. Bottom line, this device works just like the Roku operating systems native to my prior TVs and is working perfectly as a replacement operating system for my LG C4 OLED TV. The TV has a setting that enables the Roku to come on automatically when it is powered on. I recommend the Ultra for both Roku veterans who are looking to replace an operating system and newbies who are ready to try the best operating system on the market.

I'm 74 and had to get rid of my expensive cable boxes which were costing me 75 a month for rental. I have some computer expertise, but streaming was not one of them - so I forced myself to dig into alternatives to the boxes (which I had 5). My son had a ROKU tv so I was somewhat aware of the navigation and thought - if I go with ROKU Ultra to replace ALL the Spectrum boxes, maybe that would work since Spetrum is available as a streaming source. So that is what I did, plugging three of them into direct ethernet connections and two working on 5G wifi network. I could not be more happy with my decision. We now have more channels than we can handle. The remotes DO NOT interfer with each other which is surprising and no long and drawn out reboots of the boxes to put up with anymore. ROKU Ultima devices saved the day.

My wife and I are longtime fans of Roku, and greatly value the user experience it provides. Simple and reliable. Motivated by the imminent arrival of houseguests, we recently moved our primary (family room) Ultra (2020) player to a spare TV in our guest suite, and replaced it with an Ultra (2024). Both players use hardwired Ethernet connections for smooth streaming. It goes without saying, we liked our Ultra enough to buy it again. While we anticipated improvements in the newer model, reflecting its further development, I’m delighted to report Ultra (2024) has exceeded our expectations. Specifically, we LOVE the new backlit remote (more so, after setting the “rocket” button to launch our favorite apps; SlingTV and YouTube). Most surprisingly, not to mention, most welcome, our picture quality noticeably improved as a result of Ultra (2024) detecting and optimizing our Samsung TV’s High Dynamic Range (HDR) display capabilities. My wife likened it to getting a new TV. The bottom line is Ultra (2024j is a thoughtfully conceived and well-executed product. Go Roku!

We replaced our 10 year old ROKU box, still working, with the new Roku Ultra 4850R. Didn't take very long to get all connected and fired up. ROKU makes it so unbelievably ridiculously easy to connect. They walk you through hooking your acct to the new box. Nice. The quality of picture and stereo audio received through the Roku Ultra 4850R is a huge upgrade from our older ROKU box. The new backlit remote just makes this the perfect entertainment system and with the discount sale they were running, makes this a fantastic purchase.

I got this device after cutting my cable service and I couldn't be happier. Access to lots of great content, easy to navigate, snappy controls and gives me everything I need all in one device. This Ultra model also has some nicer features that just make it even better than the other models. Highly recommended model!
