Better than expected

I've had this unit for one month and during that time two power outages. No problems. Starts easily and quickly with remote button. Does not change speed or noise much with changing loads. Adapts to changing loads well. Lots of useful features. Seems rugged. I run it with propane, fed by a 50 gallon tank with regulator. All I need to do is push the remote button and then switch my transfer box in my basement. Beautiful. Everything's been thought through. It's inside a metal shed, set on a wood floor.

So Far So Good

Some assembly required, but very easy. Added oil and gas - synced fob to generator and it started right up (2 seconds) also started with push button on unit and pullcord started up no problems. Hooked into house and ran appliances, furnace and well the same as power from my electric supplier. Giving 4 stars and not 5 only because it hasn't been used yet in an emergency situation. But so far so. good

Excellent Whole House Generator

I bought this a couple of months ago after we experienced a number of power outages in our area of rural NH last winter. I waited to write the review until we'd experienced at least one outage since the purchase. Our first outage lasted approx. 4 hours. Before we started it up to power our house, I contacted the an electrician just to make sure that I understood the WGen7500's grounding was compatible with the grounding on our transfer switch and main panel box. He showed me how to remove the unit's ground (which comes attached to the unit's frame) so that it was grounded through the whole house electrical system. So when the outage occurred, the WGen7500 performed flawlessly. I had started it up a couple of times before the first outage just to make sure I understood how to get it started. Piece of cake. After I'd let it run 10 minutes, I asked my wife if the noise bothered her. (I was running it outside the garage and her home office is just above the garage entrance.) She said she couldn't hear it. Excellent. Out of the box assembly is very easy. The handle that comes assembled to the frame makes moving it very easy. (I'm 72 yrs. old.) The hard wheels won't go flat. Our house is approx. 1800 square ft. The WGen7500 powered our furnace, our well pump, refrigerator/freezer and extra mini-freezer, all the lights we needed and outlets. We did not use the stove during the first outage (which occurred after midnight,) but I'm sure the WGen7500 could handle that as well as long as we were judicious with the use of appliances run off of outlets. I don't plan to use this as a contractor, but I've decided to use one of the extra 20 amp. outlets and connect a second extension cord to a sub panel so that during the next outage, I can keep out internet connection up and running (per my wife's request).

Strong frame

Bought in the start of winter. Putting it together was pretty straightforward and fast. I like the steel frame that wraps around the whole generator including the fuel tank. The push button start and automatic choke does exactly what it should. So far I have no negatives.

best gen for 2018

this gen has a better value than any other on the market for 2018. although it may have a quieter muffler sound as reported, someone said it makes 'mechanical' noise. the reason for this is due to the fact that this generator is a brute, upper middle-class, gen set. it's a chinese generator with all the bells and whistles for $750, so a little noise is acceptable. upon start up it was not as quiet as a honda conventional gen 6500watt running at full load, but it costs hundreds, not thousands. no generator of any useful size is quiet when your haulin' the mail, everyone should know that by now. i even have stood on the exhaust side of 2 honda inverter gens running in tandem. it was noisy, dam noisy. quiet campground generator? yea, right! an inverter gen might be quiet if your plugging in a single light bulb. who want to be elbow to elbow in a campground anyway? it will be interesting to see how long this gen can dominate the market in the years to come.

Best portable generator on the market

Ive owned multiple portable generators and the Westinghouse WGEN7500 is by far the best one I have ever owned! I have yet to use this one on a true power outage but load tests have proven that this one will have zero problems powering my 3500 square foot house with my transfer switch. Love the key fob to start, i'll have this machine for quite some time, Thanks Westinghouse for making such a quality generator!

So far so good!

Single female age 64. Purchased this on 09/08/2018 and received 09/19/2018. Shipping was delayed due to Hurricane Florence. Thank goodness we dodged a bullet here and power remained on. Had to have someone put the feet and wheels on (too heavy for me) but I can maneuver it just fine with the wheels. Electric start and remote start/stop worked the 1st time - whew! Was without power for 6 wks in Hurricane Hugo and never want to do that again - ever. Excellent purchase that will hopefully never be used!

Powerhouse!

We purchased this generator and it was delivered within 2 weeks. The wheel kit and little legs were a breeze to install with a 10mm socket wrench. After adding the supplied engine oil and a few gallons of gas, this little powerhouse started on the second pull in 36 degree weather! This supplies plenty of power to our transfer switch and lasts quite a while at around half load. Looking forward to using this for years to come!

Great Generator, well built.

I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The initial setup was very easy and quick. The oil and funnel were included in the box, I hooked up the battery after putting in the oil, put in the gas, turned on the gas and switch and pressed the remote start. The generator automatically started up. I really like the electric start and remote start since my back doesn't adapt to pull starting anymore. This is one of the reasons I purchased this model.

Easy to move and quick start

After adding the ENTIRE bottle of oil (I read how much it actually takes after my husband filled it up) and putting in gas, it was taken for a stroll down the driveway to get cranked on. Little to my surprise, this little generator that could started up with zero problems, following instructions on the quick start. It ran fairly quiet which is pleasant - at least quieter than my neighbors down the road that I can hear clunking along in the dead of night. I look forward to using it this year- because where we live… it's guaranteed to be needed.
