ELECTRIAN JUST LEFT HOOKED UP TRANSFER SWITCH. WESTINGHOUSE 7500 WORKED LIKE A CHARM. WE WENT THROUGH AND LABELED ALL POWER CONNECTIONS. GENERATOR WAS NOT EVEN STRESSED WITH ALL POWER ON. NOW NO AC OR WATER HEATER BUT ALL LIGHTS OUTLETS AND FANS WERE POWERED. USE A TRANSFER SWITCH AND DO IT RIGHT, SURE MAKES LIFE EASIER.

I have serviced and use portable generators for years, and very few impress me as something more than just another power plant. Bought the WGen7500 for home back-up power if needed. My wife and I are seniors now and found the electric start very easy to use. Assembly is easy, just wheels and a pair front supports. Added the provided oil, then gas, oiled the air filter as recommended. Connected the battery, depressed the on switch the when the start button turned GREEN pressed it. Started up and leveled out to a smooth operation. Tested the 120vac outlet with a power tool. I'm happy!!

Read quite some reviews before buying this model for my house. All is as advertised. Pretty quiet. Price is decent and affordable. The build quality feels so solid. Other things I like include the oil funnel, push-start plus remote start. Very happy with the purchase. Wish it be durable and last many years to come.

Instructions should state that machine will take 1 full quart of oil. It took a long time to fill oil container because husband was not sure how much to put in. Generator is VERY heavy, if machine had another set of wheels that could be set down when rolling I think it would be much easier to move.

Once everything is put together it runs fantastic!!! Definitely read the instructions to make sure you add gas, oil, hook up battery, and make sure you turn on the fuel valve on before turning it on!! Tested it out with the electrician and it worked great!

Bought this unit two years ago not sure when we slid need. Just finished 5 days of no power after a big storm. She crushed it. Took a couple of days to fully understand how it works. Drinks more oil than I would have thought. And shuts down when oil is low. But otherwise great and if you keep an eye on it it delivers. Great Machine. Powered our whole house minus - microwave, toaster oven, hair dryers (two teenage girls) and only one of three A/C compressors at a time. All told great machine very happy. Saved us! Would def recommend!

After a recent ice storm left us without power for 4 days, getting a generator seemed to be the next logical step, particularly since an even worse ice storm was predicted to arrive in the next few hours. I am not at all savvy when it comes to machines. I was extremely concerned that I would inadvertently screw something up while setting up the new generator under pressure. That did not occur because the instructions were absolutely clear and left no doubt at any point as to what the next step would be, and the only items I needed that didn't come in the box were a Phillips screwdriver and some gasoline. When I came to the end of the procedure and pressed the Start button, the generator started up immediately. As it turned out, the weather gurus were wrong about the second ice storm so I haven't had a chance to run the generator under actual emergency conditions . I know, though, that this machine will be ready when we need it because the maintenance and upkeep schedule that is included is very straightforward. The generator also comes with a data center that keeps track of hours of operation and that eliminates a lot of the guesswork.

Unit arrived well packaged and with everything you need to get started...even a custom oil funnel and the remote with its own, carabiner. These are small details but it means less messing around and the attention to detail is nice. A friend saw it and gave away their current one and order one themselves.

Set up the transfer switch ahead of time. WGen out of the box, install wheels, add oil, connect battery and fuel source, plug into generac outlet, then push start. Switch on main breakers whole house was up and running, 2300 sq ft. Loved the remote start. We had that on the night stand and off cycled the unit about 10PM and back on when we got up at 5AM. Saved fuel, food in fridge perfect, wood burning stove for warm house, power for coffee in the am. Checked the fuel gauge and added as required before going to work. Was able to get about 14 hours between fill ups.

After researching Duel Fuel generators I puchased this unit . It has all the features I need to feel comfortable when our home loses power. The fact I can use propane if I run out of gas is the feature I like most. Its built to last. The fact that it has push button start and easy hookup to my transfer switch are just so convenient. I would highly recommend this unit.
