One of the most satisfying purchases of my life!

This generator was a surprisingly satisfying purchase! The wheels and front legs were easy to attach to the frame. The front legs required a 10mm wrench to tighten the bolts and to my pleasant surprise, a 10mm wrench was included in the tool kit along with a spark plug wrench in a nice fabric pouch. A quart of oil was provided along with a tailor-made funnel to put it into the engine! I charged the battery overnight with the included battery charger. After reading the manual, I turned on the "RUN" switch and pressed the button on the remote-start key fob and the engine purred to life! Completely effortless! Kudos to Westinghouse for making a complete package that's easy to use and simple to operate!

Awesome Generator

I finally purchased a generator after recently losing power for 7 days due to a hurricane and many others over the years. Long term power outages are becoming more frequent and owning a generator has become a necessity. This model has the power I need to run the items I need. It has a push button electric start which is easy for any family member to turn on along with a recoil start. Another great feature is the remote start which can be used up to 260 feet away. So many wonderful features on this generator, a must buy. I did the research and Westingtonhouse came up a winner. I am so pleased and I highly recommend this generator.

Almost great

I am a widow on a farm. I found the directions/documentation clear and was able to set it up and get it running by myself. I had difficulty connecting to the transfer switch because my prior generator was 50 amp. That is not your fault but I mention it for others. However, one star deducted for including a battery charger and not a battery tender. You should know that batteries degrade in extreme heat and cold (and we have both in Michigan). With a battery tender you can be sure the generator battery will be ready no matter what the temperature. The charger you included will not be used. I've already connected my own battery tender. Thank you for considering changing this. Thank you for sending me a cover for my generator in exchange for posting this review.

Sensitive Electronic Equipment

This generator is not advisable for Sensitive Electronic equipment. Total Harmonic Distortion 23%, most of the new electronics need to be 5%. Could cause failure of electronic equipment. Refer to manuals to see if your equipment can be used with this distortion. Overview does not mention this

My First Generator

This is my first generator. I have lived in central florida for 2 years and decided I wanted one of these. I had my electrician set up an outlet to plug it in to the outside of my house and a generator latch to code on my electrical box and we simulated a power outage, got it set up and practiced using it for the first time today. I'm pleased with the features of this model and it started and ran well during testing. It is able to power the lines for my 110 breakers including the refrigerator. In event of an outage we plan to use it with 2 small portable ac units in the bedrooms. So far so good. I am marking it a four because it is new and passed initial testing and I'm comfortable using it. I would need to have an experience using it during a real outage to move up to a 5.

Excellent Generator - Nice Features

I was going to pay more for a lower wattage generator and found the WGen7500. It not only offered me enough emergency power for my home but I really liked that it's rated at continuous 7500 W. The electric start is great. I just plug it in to my switch and start the generator. Once warmed, I transfer load and the generator goes to work. The features are basic things that you would want. The noise level is not outrageous. With severe thunderstorms in my part of the country, it's really nice to have some comfort with backup power. Our winter icing also causes some issues. I haven't really worked it out hard yet, but I expect it to be reliable and do it's job.

Powerful Generator

I did a lot of research shopping for a generator after a Category 4 hurricane rolled through the midwest in August. We were without power for days and no generators were available. Once this one was in stock I snatched it up quickly. It has the maximum amount of power for the wiring and circuit breaker I have. I wired it with a generator interlock and it will power the whole panel and what I select to turn on. Shipping was fast and everything was well packaged and safe inside. Set up was a breeze, and now I am ready for what mother natures has in store for the winter. Hopefully I won't need it, but I feel better prepared now.

Owner

Purchased and picked the new generator. First thing that impressed me was how well the generator was packaged, very well protected for shipping purposes. When I got the generator home and opened the box, the quality and care by Westinghouse was obvious. The materials enclosed were clear and easy to follow. The was minimal assembly required and very easy to complete. The wheels and front pads took about 5 minutes to complete. I added the engine oil, checked the oil level and attached the battery charger. The charger was one for approximately 5 minutes prior to the red indicator turning to blue. I wheeled the generator outside, added fresh fuel , chocked the engine, turn the fuel with on and pushed the start button. The generator cranked and started immediately. i let it run for about 5 minutes, attached the power chord and checked out the manual transfer switch i had just installed. All ready to go. The protection cage is of superb quality, well designed as is the control panel. It is obvious that thought was put into producing this generator by people who actually use them. The WGen 7500 is a solid value for a home backup generator. Thank you Westinghouse.

Well designed, electrically and mechanically.

After receiving, assembly was a breeze. Impressed on how machine is designed to power up, then load up, appon start up and unload and power down. This machine is truly set up for standby backup power but, with portable capabilites. It also appears that they test fire this unit at the factory before they ship it, per the label on the oil fill port (stating they had drained the oil). Indicates to me that they are taking extra steps at making sure they are shipping a quality product.

Strong, durable and reliable

It's very nice to have this peace of mind here in the garage. The electric start is a must since I don't want my wife to have to deal with a pull start when the power goes out. I work in Emergency Services, so when there is a disaster, I'm not home, so I need a unit that she can just get running quick and easy, when she needs it, and this generator does that very well. It's large enough to handle most of the house except the air conditioning, but it will run a couple window units along with the fridge, microwave, computers, WiFi and lights, which is more than enough. In these uncertain times, it nice to have something so reliable.
