I like the classic Mario and Luigi dynamic. Dislike no two player on a switch for a Mario bros game, come on

Fun

Im still playing at the moment. Its interesting. It's probably more directed towards teens. Some of the dialogue is about what to do next when i figured that out before they started talking. So far the only thing they really need fix is the boats map needs to be able to close while im walking around. Takes up my screen. I also felt they shouldn't show you everything on the map right away untill you at least walked there. You can basically open the map and don't need look around where to go. it points right there. Since most of the payout is really just background that you can't go to. And got spoiled by the nice look around feature from zelda echos game. Being this close to the screen of mario it seems stupid I can't even look down the way hes facing at least. if i was looking threw his eyes id see that enemy about to hit me 🙄 Probably a quicker way to change out the plug ability too if do like i do and swap before i take my turn. Graphics are ok i thought it would be too cartoon but its alright. The flashing white light they keep doing i could do without. Hitting the ball 100 times would be doable without blinding me each hit. Especially since your not really going to blink. 😂 60 was my best. So thats not happening. I usually say if i can close my eyes and still see the white light threw my eyelids its too much flash. Seeing the preview for the game i was worried the whole game play would be that way. Just a few spots like the fighting does it. it'd be nice if they had some screen options to make the brightest parts darker. And turn off the dialogue mumbo jumbo. balahalanh. what was that squeaky person. If they're going to talk why can't they just say what the words actually are? And not being able to actually use all bonuses really? Wow seems my review rating went down with all that. But those could be fixed with a update. If i knew who to tell all that to. 🤣 Still having fun though. I'd still get it just because i like mario games. Puzzles are interesting. The last one did was confusing because you see stuff to get but the area that looks walkable is actually a wall.

a new title that holds its own weight in 2024

at about 10 hrs into the game ive definitely been enjoying it and have had trouble putting it down lol. i haven't played a mario and luigi game since the original one that dropped in 2003 on the gameboy advance. this one definitely has its own charms "like the combo moves look over the top"

A strong return for a great series

The devs really understood the assignment here cause HOLY COW THIS GAME IS AMAZING!! In spite of a few minor shortcomings in comparison to the older games (which I won't go into here to avoid spoilers,) it's a VERY strong entry in the Mario %26 Luigi series, a nice return to form for the series and... dare I say, probably the best overall game in the series yet. Really hope we get another installment from this new dev team at some point in the future!

Mario %26 Luigi's Console Debut

Mario %26 Luigi is a step in the right direction for Mario RPG fans after previous Paper Mario games removed most of the beloved RPG elements. No real gimmicks just regular old Mario %26 Luigi combat that feels as fun as ever. The start is a little slow but keeps going as you unlock more stuff to do via combat like Bros. moves and the Plug system. Graphics are fun and expressive. If the combat in Origami King left you wanting more traditional gameplay this is great. Plugs function sort of like badges and bring in experimentation.
