I've been familiar with Vitamix's blenders for a long time, and just received the A2500 as a gift. I decided on this blender over other Vitamix blenders because I was excited about the smart detect technology and the compatibility with the food processor attachment. When the blender arrived, I was shocked at how cheap it looked. Right out of the box there were some nicks on the plastic and the entire base is comprised of plastic pieces that don't seem durable. The see-through container and snap on lid, while I understand it's purpose, seems less durable than the black lids. The tamper is what I was most shocked about as it resembles a bowling pin, hollow and cheaply assembled. I've talked to other Vitamix owners about this and the consensus seems that Vitamix has decreased it's quality over the past few years. I'm glad there is a 10 year warranty. I was honestly hoping for more and wasn't expecting this level of disappointment.

This is my second Vitamix. I gave my other one away to a family member and upgraded to this machine and I love it! I mostly make smoothies, soups and other misc things. My favorite part is the cleanup...a little dish liquid and water, give it a spin and done1

My primary use case for the blender was for morning smoothies. A typical smoothie for me contains a fruit, a liquid, some protein powder, leafy greens, and ice. That also happens to be the recommended order to add them as the ice helps push things down. Since it's just a single serving in a giant container, there isn't much height of smoothie to slow down the ice ones it hits the blades. This results in the ice shooting up to the top of the blender, and kicks up ingredients that haven't blended yet onto the walls/top of the container. The video I've added shows this, and you can see a giant chunk of spinach kicked up on the side right when the ice reaches the blades. Yes, I could just spatula it all off and then re-run the blender. I could probably also crush the ice before putting it in. Regardless, there isn't yet a smaller container to make single serving smoothies efficiently. This thing is just too wide of a container for a single serving smoothie with ice cubes. I don't fault the blender. It's a beast, and I'm glad to have bought a vitamix. There just aren't enough accessories yet for the Ascent series blenders. Really hope the 32oz container makes its way to the Ascent line, as that would be perfect for me. My review is based on the fact the Ascent is still a new blender base that hasn't yet released the other containers.

After a lot of research (and considering cheaper blenders), I bought my A2500 about 18 months ago and couldn't be happier. The blending performance is amazing and the metal gears are built to last. I make smoothies and juices at least 3 - 5 times a week. Also have made soups and ice desserts with great success. This has been me and my wife's favourite appliance purchase in a long while. It is quite noisy when running at full power but there is a lot of performance under the hood and for most applications, it only runs for around a minute. I must admit that I don't really use the presets so would have probably bought the A2300 if I had my time again. I prefer the manual feel of lever controls over the touch controls. Bottom line, I'd buy again in a heartbeat and wish I had done so years ago.

Oh this is my third vita mix. I gave my 5200 am I a series two friends who could not afford one. I’ve had these sent 2500 for about two years end it is a real superstar in my kitchen. I use it mostly for soups and smoothies and it works perfectly. The small bowls perfect for small batches of salad dressings, humus and the like. It would be nice to have a larger smoothie jar say 24 ounces I said is typically the size of smoothie I drink. Maybe someday!

It's been about a month and works wonderfully. I was skeptical before receiving this model, but not anymore! I read some reviews this is too big for one, and yes, this is a big jar so you might look into the different models to make one serving. Or you can buy a smaller jar. I hope Vitamix gives us the choice of which jar will buy. This is perfect for me and my husband, we make a larger batch of smoothies to replace our dinner. So I would totally recommend this model for a couple. And love their customer service. My first one had some issues and when I called them they helped me with the issue right away. The email was not successful, but the phone call worked beautifully. I had pro 750 and switched to this to use other size cups and different attachments. I've not tried those attachments yet, hope they work well. Some reviews mentioned the switch, but honestly, they are pretty good. When you hold it down, you feel the click. I didn't have to hold it longer to make it work as someone says. If you understand how the switch work, you'll get used to it and I don't have a problem with it. The lid is a little tricky. You need to close a little precisely, otherwise, it won't close it. I hope Vitamix can update this design. The noise is about the same as pro 750. I didn't measure exactly, but this is Vitamix so I expected big noise. You need to a little precise to close the lid Color options - I personally don't like the touchpad, so I chose this model. I wish this model has a stainless finish or other metal finishes too. I hope this lasts longer than 10 years like the old version of Vitamix.

This is my first Vitamix and I noticed the difference right away. The build quality is excellent. The A2500 is very user friendly, looks great on the countertop and most importantly the blend quality is incredible. After getting into açaí bowls and smoothies and trying the Oster it just wouldn't do it with the precision and ease of a Vitamix. I've read a ton of reviews about this machine and unless some people have received defective machines, I don't know why everyone is whining about this model. If the container is too big (not a problem I experienced), select another model. This machine was said to be extremely loud by some reviewers but I have not experienced a level of loud that would require hearing protection. If you are on the fence thinking this isn't a good blender, don't allow the few negative reviews to make you look elsewhere. It has a 10 year warranty. I have been using it every day since I opened the box.

I just received my Vitamix A2500 and in two days, I have used it 5 times already! I transitioned to a Vegan diet about a year ago and was slogging away with soups, smoothies, "nice" cream, sauces and (dear goodness!) cashew cream using a Ninja. Slowly the Ninja was degrading, and I could not get my cashew cream smooth - just wouldn't happen despite soaking (overnight), boiling, (yes, even) microwaving, etc my raw cashews. If you cook Vegan (even sometimes) you know how frequently recipes have you making cashew cream! Smoothies would have "bits" of greens (spinach) and soups would be lumpy. The final decision that I needed to try Vitamix; I used my Ninja for a raw Vegan lemon cheesecake from my favorite cookbook / author and when it set up, the dessert was inedible all because the blending stage fell short! Who wants to eat a 'gritty' cheesecake? A bad blender is probably why many people think Vegan food is unappetizing. Pouring, assembly & cleaning is a breeze (so much better than the Ninja!) I personally like that the blades are affixed in the containers. I would often forget to hold onto (or remove) the Ninja blade for soups after blending, and it would "plop" into my soup pan splashing hot liquid everywhere) during pouring. I've already packed up my former Ninja blender (which is fine for the blending novice / dabbler) and won't be looking back! The Vitamix A2500 has delivered on everything it said it would be for my recipes (I ordered a bit skeptic); I'm honestly, blown away. The soup and smoothie "smart functions" are (definitely) necessary for me. The smoothie was 1 minute! I used the tamper once on the spinach and then done! My 4 year old loved it and wasn't "chewing" his drink. Romesco sauce was silk; asparagus & parsnip soup was liquid (green) gold, and the mocha spiced coffee (Mexican Hot Chocolate) tastes like you used a double boiler. Wow - that's all I keep saying after using this blender. The system is intuitive and I absolutely love the timer function (many of my Vegan cookbook recipes state how long to blend; probably because the author has a Vitamix!) This blender is surely an investment (and not one I made lightly!), but one I am thrilled I finally made. I also purchased the Aer Disc Container accessory (lemonade in minutes - no squeezing or peeling with 1-2 lemons; yes!), which I highly recommend.

I bought my vitamix last week (a purchase I've been dreaming of for years now). I have found that it does not fully blend single-serve smoothies (sadness), but works well for larger batches. I am a bit upset by this given that I mainly make single serve smoothies; it is also nearly impossible to get all of my smoothie out upon mixing. Nevertheless, I am hopefully that in time, the blender will prove to be as wonderful as everyone claims. Maybe I just need to play around with the settings! Any tips for these issues would be greatly appreciated!

I've owned this blender over a year and use it for everything from smoothies to soups, nut butters, and oat milk. I still prefer a food processor for nice cream but I love having a blender strong enough to handle thick smoothies with lots of ingredients!
