Purchased a few weeks ago, wanted the pulse feature for my breads and soft foods. It does the job. It’s compact size & fits nicely on the counter. The only issue I have, I need another hand to tap the bar, while holding the pre-made bag. It’s a thumbs up mighty machine. I had purchased the 5800 model first. I think I clicked it by mistake, but it’s an awesome machine too. Larger than this model, but it’s easier to manage. It seals bags and the bowls very well. Too bad this model didn’t have the pulse feature, it would be the bomb!

It’s even better than our last one. We use this all the time. I have no idea how much money we have saved by breaking down large packages of food into smaller portions and freezing it. There is only the two of us these days and many times we buy a larger amount of an item to get a better price but it’s so easy to let that expire or go bad. Anyway I can’t recommend it enough.

I am extremely happy with this purchase. wish I had bought sooner!! was a small learning curve and a few wasted bags. works great although sometimes when i am closing a bag with food it will not suction completely before it starts sealing the bag so I quickly stop it cut the top off and reseal. Have not figured out what I am doing to cause this?? otherwise i do love it and would recommend to others looking to save money on less wasted food

I purchased my Foodsaver FM5460 2-in-1 Food Preservation System a little over a month ago and have practically used it everyday since. I love the way it looks and fits on my kitchen counter, not taking a lot of space. I love all of the features this 1 machine provides. I will be able to save a ton of money and waste less food. Very happy!

This has been a great purchase. The product preforms better than I thought it would. I especially love the retractile attachment for zipper bags, canisters and containers. The zipper bags keep our deli meats and cheese as fresh as the day we brought them home from the store. With the 3, 5, and 8 cup containers we are keeping our fruits, salads and veggies way longer. I would recommend this vacuum sealer to anyone that wants to save money on their food bill.

Our 5800 unit had an issue with the rollers in the bag making so replaced it with this simpler design. Bit more work to seal but OK, not so much to break. This is our fourth (maybe 5th) Foodsaver in over 30 years, hand-me-downed tothe kids when we upgraded. This is the first time we’ve had to replace due to a broken part. Great saver of food and money on food, we will always have a Foodsaver in the house.

Ok, so i have been a foodsaver fan for years. I got a lower end model for christmas a few years back after my parent's and sister's family both got them. I was single at the time and wanted to split up packs of chicken breasts to freeze. It did not disappoint. However, with so much use, the lower end model began to give us trouble, and, after much frustration, I gave in and got us this one. And let me tell you - it is incredible. The ease of use is one amazing thing about it. I can have a new bag ready to go immediately because it has already had the bottom sealed since the last time i used it. Just cut it to the correct size and put the food in, and vacuum! And it came with so many bags, i don't think i will have to buy another pack for a long while. The accessory port is soooo useful, especially with the wine stopper. I don't have to worry about my wine going bad after a few days anymore. I haven't used the cannister lid yet, because it didn't come with the cannisters themselves. The vacuum is sooooo much more powerful than my old model. And it works QUICK. And the seal is much more even and strong. I also like that this is tall instead of deep. It doesn't tske much space up on the counter. I would gladly recommend this to all of my friends.

Upgraded from VAC500 to the FM5460 takes less room and works slick. Great investment and a quality piece of equipment. This product should be in every home. It save money and is simple to use. No more waste and leftovers that go bad. I highly recommend this necessary tool for the home.

I so wanted to love this machine. I've had it a couple weeks now and have not found it as easy to use as I'd hoped. At least 30% of the time when I press with my thumbs on the bar that is supposed to activate the vacuum nothing happens and when I let up the bag falls out and I have to start all over again. I am also finding that many times the machine will vacuum but never stop and seal, which I have to try again, or seal manually, allowing some air to escape. When I can get it to work right, it's great. I use it to create single portion meals for the week for myself. I just wish it would activate more easily, and would finish sealing after vacuuming more often.

I bought this a few weeks ago and will say it is the hardest one to figure out. But once you got it, it is the BEST. It is so much easier to make bags to use and the seal is much better. I love that you can set it for moist packages and not have to pre freeze meats before sealing them. I bought my first machine over 20 years ago. This one is so advanced that should be around a long time.
