too complicated to use, it is a really good looking machine but a real nightmare to use. I have been a foodsaver user for many years an over those many years have purchased 4 different machines never had an issue with any of the previous units, this one I am returning.

I’ve only used it once and it’s different from my previous model. I like that I don’t have to have so much waste because I can create bags with less extra space. I’m not a fan of the rolls not being able to be ‘locked’ in. It has a bigger foot print than my old one, buts it’s not too bad. I wish the sealing bar was a little closer to the countertop. I got a great deal and seems to be quieter and there are more options for controlling the functions (seal vs vacuum, moist vs dry, etc) I think it will be easier to clean. I’m just happy to have unit that isn’t so ‘picky’ like my old one had become.

Have this unit for over a month now..really a great product. I reseal my chip bags seal meats for freezing. So far NO troubles with it still have to try out a few features like bottle sealing and jars but that will come in time...Would give 5 Stars but have not had Unit long enough.

I have an older model FoodSaver product and the unit started taking a long time to get the excess air out of the bags. My wife and I decided to purchase a newer model. After reading several reviews we decided on the FM5460. We are extremely satisfied with the new unit. All the extra benefits that come with the FM5460 makes it much easier to make bags and seal freshness in our fruits and vegetables.

I bought this to replace an older food saver model. I like that you can put a roll of bags in it and don't have to hunt for that box of bags and the auto vacuum just all the nice features in this newer model are great. I now leave it on the counter since there are different uses of this model.

Purchased recently and have used. Love it but obviously bigger and a little more complicated than our orig one; that just place - press & done (husband a little intimidated). Now dont get me wrong - I do love it and all that it has to offer; I just haven't had to use them yet. I just hope it last as long as my first one - which was several years. :)

The bag holder/dispenser is a great feature and my observation is the vacuum part is more powerful getting a more complete vacuum. I sous vide so getting more air out means items are more likely to be submerged when cooking. If you sous vide, buy up a price level or two, you won't regret it.

This week I have wraped, steak, bread, for freezing, important documents, and resealed my dehydrated prep main meals to use next week, and my snack crackers. The new sealer in this unit is wider and makes a better seal than the 20 year old FoodSaver my mother gave me, Yes it still worked after 20 years. I have been exparimenting with sealing the original packaging, and been happy to see it work on chips, crackers and more. If you find it on sale, or can add it to your grocery budget I recommend for great savings.

Best purchase ever! As a single person I throw a ton of food away, but with the Food Saver; that stays on my counter, unlike a toaster for easy access, I have saved a ton of money....best of all, I have ready made meals due to left overs that stay fresh.
