Not bad for the money

All in all, this is a good system I did not give it a five star rating for two reasons: 1.) There is no way to change the level on the individual speakers. I would like more volume from the back, but levels are preset. This is the only negative about this system. 2.) In several of the reviews it was stated the small, side speakers are wireless. This is only partially true. They connect by wires to the subwoofer, which can be placed anywhere (it is truly wireless). The side speakers are not connect to the tv. Since I live in a complex, I can't turn up the volume very high, but even at a low volume I have picked up various clinks and sounds from the speakers I would not have otherwise heard. I would recommend this system.

Best soundboard I've owned

This is the third soundbar that I've had, in various places of my house. The first was a regular Vizio without the sub or satellite speakers. The second was a Klipsch with a sub. This one was by far the easiest setup of the three. It puts out good sound for being under $200. The Klipsch puts out the best sound but that's a $700 unit. I like this unit better than the Klipsch, though, because it instantly learned the controls from my remote control so now in order to turn it on all I have to do is press Volume Up or Down and it turns on instantly. The Klipsch didn't do that and doesn't work with the same Dish remote control in another room. The Klipsch also has an annoying "smart" technology that causes it to turn on at random times. The only complaint I had with this is I thought the satellite speakers would be wireless but they aren't. They plug into the sub, which sits in the back of the room. Which is also a little odd, but not a deal breaker by any means. There's a generous length of cord for the speakers so that isn't an issue. I just have a kitten who likes chewing cords so it's a minor inconvenience for me. Overall, though, this is absolutely worth the price you pay for it.

Happy Camper

Though I am NOT a audio expert, I believe I'm getting great sound out of this sound bar. Several points to know: 1) The two satellite speakers make their connection via wires to the wireless subwoofer. 2) I believe it's best if you have speaker stands for the satellite speakers porcelain I had some from my previous sound bar 3) It would have been nice if my Vizio programmable remote for my Though I am NOT a audio expert I believe I'm getting good sound out of this sound bar newly purchased tv was able to power the sound bar off/on, thus completely eliminating the need to use my vizio sound bar remote. Fortunately I had good timing and the good sense to check the product online. The new in store model of this sound bar had just come out. I couldn't figure out the difference between the old (online) and the new (in store), other a different sku# and a $25 clearance price reduction. Naturally I ordered online and had it delivered to my local store.

Best sound bar value

Vizio 5.1-channel sound bars (I own both the 38" and the 42") provide incredible audio experiences. The center channel speaker, along with the wireless sub woofer and rear satellite speakers, make for a thoroughly enjoyable viewing/listening experience. They cannot be matched in bang-for-the-buck when I compare them with sound bars at many times their price. They're also excellent for simply listening to music alone. As a bass guitar player I enjoy cranking up the volume so I can feel the bass through my feet. I totally enjoy my viewing and listening time - and their prices make them all the more sweet!

Vizio 38" 5.1 is a great buy !!!

It was a easy set up, great sound. No matter where you put the subwuffer its range could be felt and sounded the same no mater where you sit. Just wish that you could get the satellite speaker stands in store, have to go on line to purchase that's the only inconvenience . Had no problems with the remote setup wish that it had a light on the remote screen. Overall good buy for the money !!!

Much better than using you stock TV speakers.

Price was great! Installation was a breeze. Had it up and running in ten minutes. I have a Bose sound bar but wanted true surround. The rear channel speakers are connected to the sub so you'll have to find a place for it. Mine is right beside my couch so I can really experience heavy thumping bass.

Amazing!!

I had some Klipsch surround sound speakers that I hadn't used in years because my receiver went out. I bought a new Pioneer receiver and hooked up all of the wires...lots and lots of wires!! Well after two days of trying to get it to work, I unhooked everything and returned the receiver. I ordered this online and when it was delivered, I discovered it also has Bluetooth!! This was so easy to hook up and very few wires. If anybody has ever had a surround sound receiver from about twenty years ago, you too will appreciate technology like I do. The sound is great. I live in a small apartment, so I haven't been able to enjoy it very loudly, but my neighbors are probably not happy about the subwoofer!! Lol. I definitely recommend this!!

38" 5.1

I have a 70" Vizio tv. I purchased this surround sound system and I love it. All I had to do was take out of the box and hook it up. The sound is awesome!!!! Everything you need comes with it. The cables that goes to the speakers from the bass is very, very long. Yes the bass is wireless but the other speakers are not. I can not say enough how awesome this system is. And the remote for my tv works for this system, so just one remote for my tv and sound system. I do not think you can beat this deal. Hope this helps. Semper Fi

"wireless" is a bit misleading

Im very happy with the speakers and the sound, however it was not what I expected, I expected wireless subwoofer, which it does have, and wireless rear speakers. You do have to plug the subwoofer in for power and it goes in the rear of the room away from the tv, there are no wires to the tv from this speaker it is wireless, the two small rear speakers connect to the subwoofer with wires, I thought they would be wireless too but it makes sense, you would need batteries or something to power them if they did not plug into the subwoofer. So in reality the subwoofer and rear speakers are wireless from the television but the rear speakers are not independently wireless themselves. The sound is great with a bit of fine tuning and the subwoofer gives good bass. Easy to hook up and I got it with black friday sale so it was only 150 dollars.

A winner for full 5.1 surround

I compared this system with the Vizio 2.1 Sound Stand from Sam's Club. It was easy to set up with my Toshiba 48" - just connect the optical cable from the soundbar to the TV. Then place the wireless subwoofer behind or next to the couch and easily run the wired rear speakers off the subwoofer. I was up and comparing in 20 minutes. For my medium size living room, there was no comparison - this system rocks with so many tuning features, including an ingenious self test, it's unbelievable. This system provides the best 5.1 surround sound and value for your money.
