NOTE: Cuisinart reserves the right to edit this

NOTE 1: I received an email request to review AND to enter the Sweepstakes on 04/20/2026. The Sweepstakes ended 03/31/2026. NOTE 2: Under the Terms and Conditions I agreed to for posting a review here, Cuisinart reserves the right to edit, delete, or change anything I post in this review, so what appears under my selected user name in this review MAY NOT be the full, precise commentary I actually wrote about our experience with this product. This Coffee Center® SS-16 2-IN-1 Coffeemaker replaced a malfunctioning single pod brewing unit in our model SS-15 that was used once or more daily for both pods and carafes for nine years. Both the list price and the selling prices are significantly lower than the SS-15 was 9 years ago. The SS-16 model is nearly a mirror image of the SS-15 it replaced, with single Pod brewing now on the left, and the Carafe brewing now on the right. The functions of both models are substantially the same, although the electronics are more integrated, with all selection buttons now only on the Carafe side of the unit. The SS-16 uses the same small carbon filters in the water reservoirs, (two included with the new unit) and the same size paper basket filter as the now-discontinued SS-15 (several paper filters also included with the new unit), so we didn't have to purchase anything new. The 12-cup SS-16 carafe is also identical to the 12-cup SS-15 carafe, so now we have an extra carafe, in case we manage to break one. The SS-16 Pod brewer now offers more choices for the amount of water dispensed, ranging from 4-ounces to 12-ounces in 2-ounce increments. It defaults to 8-ounces. If you use the other amounts, it COULD be an improvement over the three (6-8-10 ounce) button choices of the SS-15. However, if you want a different amount than default 8 oz dispensed, it now requires multiple Pod button-presses to select capacity, AND a press of the Brew/Off button, instead of pushing just one button to both select capacity and begin brewing a pod in the SS-15. Starting to brew a Carafe of coffee now requires selecting Carafe, and then pressing the Brew/Off button. On the SS-15, only one button press was necessary. We noticed that the SS-16 Pod side seems to brew at a higher water temperature than our old SS-15, because the freshly-brewed pods are now too hot to remove with bare fingers immediately after brewing, but after 9 years, the SS-15 brewing temperature may have decreased with age. The SS-16 has a single center LED indicating both Carafe or Pod brewing by pulsing, and steady-on to indicate 'keep warm' after brewing.

No! Absolutely not!

Wow, so disappointed. This coffee maker is very nice to look at but that's the only positive. What we didn't like: Two water reservoirs. The one used for brewing a pot is only filled with the amount of water needed to brew a single pot. It is located on the back of the machine which must be moved out from its place to fill- and it's heavy! The individual cup reservoir can be filled and then used for several brewings. It requires water filters in each of the two water reservoirs. Multiple attempts to brew a pot of coffee resulted in grounds in every pot. Paper filter, reusable filter, full pot, half pot-always a blend of coffee and grounds. Lots of buttons so it looks nice but unnecessary. Don't let the high price and brand name make you think this a good thing, it's definitely not!

Excellent coffee maker!

I am truly satisfied with the purchase of this coffee maker. I love that it has a lot of diversity, able to make hot or cold coffee, single cup or whole pot. I also love that the actual pot does not spill out the sides when I pour my coffee like some of the coffee pots I've had in the past. I would most certainly buy this again if I needed it.

Problems with my new Cuisinart Coffeemaker

The pros--it's NOT a Keurig (I had problems with them), it looks nice & it keeps my coffee pretty warm. The cons--the 2 water tank system. We use bottled water...I don't drink many k-cups, usually just a couple here & there. To fill it to minimum fill, I waste water because you can't keep it in there for more than a couple of days. Plus I've had a few disasters with the k cups splattering all over. Don't even get me started on the programming. I guess I should have researched more but I have quite a few Cuisinart products & I like every one of them I'm very unhappy right now.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Coffee Center® 2‑IN‑1 Coffeemaker, and we’re sorry to hear about the frustration you’ve encountered. To help reduce water waste and splatter, we recommend filling only the needed reservoir based on which side you’re using, ensuring the K‑Cup® pod is properly seated, selecting the correct cup size, and keeping the lid fully closed during brewing; reviewing the programming steps in the use and care guide may also help with setup. Our Consumer Assistance Center would be happy to help with troubleshooting or usage tips at 1‑800‑726‑0190—please reference Ticket #:8900645726 when calling. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback, as it helps us improve future models.

Perfect

This replaced my Cuisinart that lasted almost 20 years. I love the single serve option. I've never been a fan of single-serve before this because the flavor just wasn't there- this one's different! I use my ground coffee in reuseable k cup and it's delicious. And the carafe option when family's here is great. Doesn't hog too much counter space, dual options, and delicious coffee. So glad I made this purchase!

2 in 1 Coffee Maker

The concept for this machine is good. The brew pot is fine, but in my experience the coffee tastes scorched. It may be the newness of the machine. The problem I have consistently had is with the single pod brewing side. I had an older version of this same machine that eventually leaked from where the water tank connected to the coffee maker. I switched manufacturers and finally decided to return to Cuisinart in order to have both single and large pot options in one machine. With the brand new machine, I immediately had issues with the water reservoir leaking completely out onto my counter and floor. I contacted the warranty office and they send me a new clear plastic tank. Obviously not the problem because it leaked again. I recontacted them about the problem. I have now been sent a new machine. One day in and it is fine. My concern is how it will hold up long term as my last coffee station leaked after about a year of use. We will see. I was disappointed this time around to have the brand new coffee maker exhibit the leaking issue. It gave me a little bit of PTSD.

Thank you for sharing your detailed experience—we’re sorry to hear about the leaking concerns and understand how frustrating this can be, especially given your history with a similar model. For reservoir leaks, we recommend ensuring the tank is fully seated and locked into place, checking that the valve area is clean and free of debris, and confirming the unit is positioned on a level surface. If concerns persist or you notice scorched taste or pod‑side issues, our Consumer Assistance Center can help review troubleshooting and next steps at 1‑800‑726‑0190. Thank you for your feedback, as it’s valuable in helping us improve reliability and performance in future models.

Great coffee maker

I was a little concerned based on some reviews I saw, but this coffee maker has exceeded my expectations. It makes great coffee - both hot and iced, bold or regular, in a pot or a k-cup. It is bigger than I expected, but works well in my RV. It has a 2 year warranty but I don't expect to have to use it. I got a great deal on it too!! I highly recommend.

Dual Coffee Maker

I love the dual version of the coffee maker. It's a replacement for a six year old Cuisinart coffee machine. I am truly a Cuisinart product consumer. Great quality products

THE COFFEE MAKER EVERYONE SHOULD BUY.

My husband loves good coffee. But our concern is always about making too much and the cost of coffee keeps going up higher. This coffee maker is perfect for our needs. It was so easy to set up and use. Its an attractive appliance as well. The coffee tastes is excellent from the Keurig side and the ground coffee side. It was both affordable and practical. We truly appreciate this coffee maker.

Ohhhh yes, you will enjoy this coffee maker!

Two, yes two methods of making coffee. Brews much hotter than my older 2.0 Pod coffee maker! I visited my son and daughter-in-law and they had the same model Cuisinart coffee maker. They grind their own Colombian Dark Roast beans. My gosh, I had to have one for my own. Competes with Green barista coffee company tasting coffee!
