This is one of the best coffee machines that we have ever used. It makes hot coffee and in addition to that we use the hot water side everyday. I often have a cup of tea or a latte out of one of the pods that the machine will accept. The water is around 200° both for the coffee when freshly brewed and for the water that goes through the pod. That is a very good temperature for getting the best flavor out of your coffee beans. The buttons are easy enough to use and seem to work well. I can see us using this coffee machine for many years to come. I've been using Cuisinart machines for the past 25 years and so far this is my favorite one.

The construction and design quality of this coffee maker is way beyond the Keurigs, etc. Ive had. Everything is so well though out ... Like the fold out handle to lift out the tank for water, and the 4-12 ounce selection on the pod brew switch. I have not used the karafe yet, but its design is amazing. Finally, this brewer is much quieter than my previous Keurig machines. I'm very happly with it.

I bought this to replace a single-serve coffee maker that wore out. I wanted one with a single and a drip-pot for groups. So far it works great. I use the single most of the time with the provided coffee grounds cup. I don't use k-cups thought they work just fine. It make s a nice cup of coffee. The screen filter leaves a fine residue so I bought some paper filters for it. I think it makes a better cup. Otherwise a well-made piece of equipment

We purchased this machine just a few weeks ago, so far it works as it should. This is not to say there aren't any design flaws. So far there are 6 things that I definitely do not like. We use both grounds and cups and decided to try this unit. 1st. For grounds and caraffe brewing. The resavor is located in the top/back and not very large or wide. It's extremely easy to have water splash when filling. The charcoal filter holder sticks up and takes away even more room. 2nd. The design of the pitcher is just bad. The bulbous body of the pitcher and the pour spout makes it extremely difficult to pour out all the water or coffee completely without bending your wrist well past a 45 degree angle. Trust me, that's not easy. And it makes It even harder trying to fill the resevour in the small area they provide.. Did anybody actually try this and then think it was a good idea? 3rd. The lid of the caraffe DOES NOT just flip open for easy fill or rinsing. You need to remove it completely and snap it back in place near the handle. I can definitely see the plasric connection breaking at some point causing an unsecurred lid. 4. We use the triangular paper filters and when making more than 5 cups, the water fills so quickly that the coffee doesn't have time to drain and it floats the grounds up and over the top of the filter. They then find their way into the coffee and/or the area of the machine that holds the filter basket. The only way to avoid this is to use the "Bold" brew setting. I guess that slows the water. Once the brewing starts, you cannot activate the "Bold" setting. It must be done first. This is not mentioned in the manual. Again, did anybody even test this before approving the design? 5. If you've brewed a pot of coffee and someone wants to use a pod, they press the "Pod" button. But doing this turns off the heating element under the "Carafe" and the coffee in the carafe will go cold. We found this out the hard way. 6. There is a lighted clock. But the light DOES NOT stay on all the time. It goes black after and hour or so and only relights when you touch a button. Why did they do this? To summerize. We're still undecided whether or not to return this machine.1 or 2 inconveniences is ok, nothings perfect, but I just don't believe enough thought was put into the design. .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would definitely buy again. The option of 1-cup vs a carafe is wonderful. The looks and value of the Cuisinart is unsurpassable. Not many coffee pots come in white anymore (my pick). That was a plus. its pretty enough to leave out on the countertop . So many features too--iced coffee, 4,6,8,10 oz pods!

The coffee this pot makes is excellent! Whether with a pod or carafe it's delicious. Set up wasn't as easy. The labels on the buttons and knobs aren't intuitive. The loss are convenient. The open ring to the pod doesn't stay all of the way open making for minor but annoying inconvenience when loading or removing a pod. The machine looks good and I'm overall satisfied. Small feature like the folding cup holder for mugs with the pods is cool.

I like the machine quite a bit. However, the cup water reservoir requires you to fill it up when there is still 1/3 of the water left and doesn't let you know until you've realized your cup is empty. The "over ice" feature was something I used on other manufacture's machines. This one does not do it well - the water is just as hot as when making a regular cup. The machine is beautiful, makes a pot of coffee pretty quickly. I do recommend.

Hoping I am not jinxing myself, I have to say we are very happy with our purchase. We had a different Cuisinart prior to this one and we loved that one as well. Only shopped for a new one because our daughter accidentally broke the carafe. I would recommend this product.

Overall this is a great coffee maker and I do like it and would recommend. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that on the pod side the water reservoir is pretty small and you have to add water after just a few uses (and I normally use the 6oz-8oz cup sizes).

My first Cuisinart coffee maker leaked water the whole time I had it for 12 years.This time I decided to be proactive and actually used the warranty if I had a problem with my new one. And sure enough I had a problem with it. Hopefully this replacement will last and not malfunction.
