I received this as a gift. I don't know if I got a lemon or all of them have the same problem. I read the instructions over several times, and to no avail. I tried the one cup maker and it literally exploded the coffee pod plus when I opened the lid coffee went all over my counter plus me. It's dangerous! Luckily I only had a minor burn on my finger. Also, it makes very loud sounds. The 12 cup coffee maker works, but is very noisy. If this is an issue with all SS-16 Series it's a problem that needs addressing immediately.

faulty design
Got the SS-16 coffeemaker 2 weeks ago. You lift the lid & condensation drips to the back & not into the reservoir. When brewing water spreads coffee grounds all over. I have to clean the inside after every brew. Should be 195-205 this brews at 180 degrees. Would not recommend.

Buyer Beware! Terrible machine
This machine looks really nice so I purchased the black stainless. Once I received it, I was preparing the initial „set up“ like running water through the coffee maker then attempting to do the same in the K-Cup side when the pod button wouldn't illuminate or turn on. I called Cuisinart customer service and she walked me through several troubleshooting attempts. To no avail the machine was defective. I returned it to Sam's Club for a refund. Reordered the same machine (in store they only sell stainless steel not black SS) once I received the machine again, same issue. It's really frustrating that the K-Cup wouldn't work on either machine because what a nice looking brew machine it is. But I returned a second time and will not purchase again. After reading reviews, this machine gets about 3.2 stars.

Defective right out of the box!
I was so excited about this coffee maker. It's my favorite brand, too. Right out of the box, it was defective. The coffee maker, doesn't brew all the way, and water just sits in the coffee basket inside. Also, the single cup side, doesn't work at all. I went to start a return, and it tells me it's not eligible. I bought it less than 3 weeks ago. When I started a chat, I was told to TRY and return it. I have the receipt, it's been less than 30 days, and it never worked. You're giving me my money back. I just read other reviews, and I'm not the only one with this problem. It looks like you have created a bad product, and you should take it off the market. I hope that others will see my review before they buy it and not make the same mistake I made.

Single-serve brew did not work
Cons: • Single-serve pod side doesn't power on at all • Common defect across multiple units • Poor quality control for the price I was excited to get this coffee maker, it looked stylish, space-saving, and promised the best of both worlds: a 12-cup pot and single-serve brewing. The carafe side worked beautifully right out of the box, piping hot coffee, fast brew time, no complaints there. But when I went to use the single-serve, the disappointment hit hard. No lights, no response, nothing. I followed every troubleshooting step, from resetting to reseating the water tank, but it was completely dead. I will be seeking a refund because, at this point, it's clear this isn't user error but a defect in the model itself (after seeing similar reviews).

design flaw or malfunction causes a big mess
Cuisinart 2 in 1 Coffee pot The good - The warmer for the pot works fine The bad - Both sides, the pods and the pot side are very slow compared to competitors machines. The pod side doesn't hold much water, competitors hold more. The pod side doesn't make coffee as hot as competitors, I have to microwave every cup. The worst part- Approx. twice a week, the pods wont drain fast enough. This blows the seal and top off the pods and causes a coffee ground filled waterfall down the front of the machine, a giant mess! I have had a little success with inserting the pod, then removing it and turning it to reload, putting multiple holes in the bottom of the pod. This helps a little. Obviously, something isn't right with the needle at the bottom of the pod holder. I see no damage, this may be the design. I cannot recommend this machine unless maybe you get it on clearance or if you have lots of time on your hands and only use the pot side.

Disappointed it leaks water all over the counter.
I bought this coffee maker about 2 weeks ago. I have a regular Cuisinart coffee maker that I have had for over 10 years. I love it but thought I wanted one that would brew a pot of coffee or one K-cup of coffee, plus I liked the idea of having a water reservoir so I could keep water ready for a cup. I don't understand, but when I put water in the K-pod reservoir the water leaks out all over my counter. The first time I thought maybe I didn't get the reservoir on right, so the next time I paid close attention and made sure it was on right and secure. The same thing happened. Water leaked all over the counter. Has anyone else had this happen? It is so frustrating and disappointing that a Cuisinart product would be this defective. I should have gone with the Ninja one I was looking at first.

Please make sure the single-serve water reservoir is filled only to the MAX line and that it’s seated securely with no debris around the connection point, as even a small misalignment can cause water to leak. POD side doesn't work.
Purchased this morning. Excited to have a duo option. Unboxed it. Washed it all up. Installed the filters. Ran the initial setup on the carafe side. Solid! Ran the initial setup on the Pod side… Nadda! The button doesn't even work! Doesn't light up. Zero functionality. Next time plug it in first before you go through all the hassle of getting everything wet thus delaying its immediate return.

Nice Coffeemaker, But Ours Leaked
Purchased a little over three months ago, and now it is leaking internally from the K cup water reservoir feed. This morning, I found that it leaked about 4 ounces of water overnight onto our coffee cart and kitchen floor. Otherwise, it's been a good coffeemaker that serves the single-serve/full pot-o'-mud coffee needs of our household. Going back to Sam's Club to exchange for another one that hopefully does not leak.

LOVE this coffee maker!!
This is by far the best coffee maker I have ever used! I was a Keurig customer for years, but decided to upgrade when I saw that these were on sale and had the capacity for both the carafe as well as a single cup and I have to say there are no regrets. I love the auto programmable features and I love that there are different settings for heat and boldness. After using this for 6 months, I think that this has been a great coffee maker and I can't wait to keep using it every day! Highly recommend!!
