My fault on reading the size. I measured our old one from post to post which was 10x10. I ordered a 12x10 thinking that it was measured by post to post and not the overhang. So disappointed can’t return it and looks stupid on my deck. Never would I measure from over hang. Should be wear the footings need to be for the post.

I shopped a lot of pergola kits and feel this one was a very good value. Assembly took about 7 hours with myself and my wife. Using the Bilt app on a tablet is highly recommended, since it's much easier when you can zoom in and rotate to see how parts go together. No issues whatsoever with holes lining up. The one problem we faced was getting the two end assemblies upright and connected together with the side rails. It would have been far easier with three people - two to support the end assemblies while the third person installed the side rails on top. The instructions don't give any tips. We managed, but it wasn't pretty! I also question how, once fully assembled, it's possible with two people to mark where the plastic feet should sit, move the pergola to anchor the feet and then put the pergola back in place. The pergola weighs 400 pounds. Our patio is shaded from the prevailing winds by the house, so we'll take our chances and not anchor it.

This pergola is beautiful and well-made and backyard discovery has great customer service. Just a warning when this Pergola is put together it is extremely heavy and you will need four people to lift it and move it to put in the bottom plates!

We've always wanted a pergola for our courtyard and this one is perfect! The quality is excellent, the customer service went above and beyond and the installation crew were so professional.

Our Backyard Discovery pergola arrived two days early and in great shape. We were able to assemble it in under six hours with 4 adults. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. All parts were clearly labeled.

Straight-forward to assemble, all parts accounted for (plus extras), and well machined for great fit. Took about 5 hours total, one-person except getting help standing-up/securing 3 sides to where it could stand alone.

We bought the 12ft X 10ft Pergola kit went together perfectly. No cutting or drilling was needed. The most helpful instruction is not to tighten anything until the final step.
