This Shark Rotator Professional XL, was bought after several years of spending lots of money on the better known brands. Brands that would work great initially, but then, sometimes as quick as within 6 months, would start to struggle to do the job for which they were purchased.so yes, yet another $200+ big name vacuum came to a noisy death. After looking around and talking to friends, we decided to give the Shark Rotator a try. We initially bought a more expensive model online from Walmart (to be picked up that day from the store, only to learn that the store didn't have the model in stock as the inventory showed) and while stewing inside, I opened my Sam's club app, and lo and behold, this model had an instant 30% off. It took a week to arrive, longer than expected, but once it did, it was easy to put together, the instructions were very clear. It was put to use immediately, and did the job much better than expected. Easy to navigate around things, the rotator function really does make a big difference. Although we had to wait a week for it to arrive, hence it had been a week since we had been able to vacuum, which with two large dogs in the house shedding leads to a lot of dog hair building up, we were surprised at just how much this unit picked up. Even with the extra large cannister, we had to empty it 3 times. Both impressive and an eye opener. It definitely has the suction power it advertises. But probably the best/most important two features, at least to us, is the 2 stage power switch, which easily turns the rotating brush on/off without having to bend down in a gymnastic routine. It makes going from bare floors to carpet a breeze.And with a fixed brush height setting, there's nothing to be confused about, and the less/more suction control, that allows you to regulate "bleeding off" some of the suction power on deep carpets to avoid the vacuum to get bugged down, and apply full suction power on bare floors and low carpets (a feature I believe, after reading other reviews of this model, many people haven't realized exist because they might not have read the instruction manual beyond how to put it together) All in all, so far so good. If it end up lasting as long as other buyers say it does, the Shark Rotator Professional XL will be the best investment in a vacuum cleaner we have made to date. And we got it for 30% off regular price :)

I bought a Shark Powered Lift-Away a few months ago to replace an old Oreck XL. I couldn't believe how much dust, dirt and hair it pulled out of the carpets that the Oreck left behind. The house smells so much cleaner now. I loved it so much that I bought a Shark Rotator Professional XL for my office to replace the Oreck I had there. The only real difference between the two is the Lift-Away feature which comes in handy for cleaning stairs but isn't necessary. I am very happy with both machines and would highly recommend them.

Bought this Rotor cleaner one month ago..and it is everything I wanted. Does a good job taking the dirt out of the carpets, has a section you can lift up and use on other things and not have to lift the whole machine, easy to empty when you are done and ready to roll for the next time you are ready to clean. Light enough I can do it and I am 80! Don't miss out on this one!

I power cleaned my entire apartment with this vacuum and it was an awesome experience! All of the attachments are a nice touch and really helped me get in the tricky places like between couch cushions and under the couch. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase.

My husband kept telling me how my old vacuum cleaner was not picking up very good. I finally bought this amazing vacuum and was embarrassed by the reality of his observation of the old vacuum. The Shark not only gets the floor and furniture clean, it is easy to use. The best part is that the Shark cost an eighth of the old one. Highly recommend this product.

This is our third Shark. All are still working, but we out-grew the other two (one is for the basement and the other is a backup on the second floor). This one seems to be doing a great job also, especially for the price. It has all the features and attachments that we wanted, is maneuverable and manageable, if a little heavy. The cord is plenty long. For me, it isn't always intuitive. Storing all the attachments can be a little puzzling. Figuring out which button releases what can be a little frustrating at first. It works well and that is what is important to me. What is important to my wife is that it's red.

I really like shark vacuums as they are good value over many others in this range. The ONLY thing I was disappointed in was this version of the model sold only at Sam's does not have a light. Not a huge deal but I do miss it for those corner and closets. I suspect Shark made this mod jus do they could hit the Sam's price point but that is speculation on my part. In fact the advert and manual talked about a light - I had to call to find out that it did not have one

I bought this as a present to my daughter-in-law because I previously bought one for my self and liked it. She was always saying how her vacuum did not have good suction on her hardwood floor. We both like the attachments that work much better than most. The expandable cord to the attachment is still tight and I pull the entire machine over if I go too far from the base.

This vacuum is pretty heavy and different to push/pull. The width is smaller than other vacuums I've owned so it doesn't cover as much area in same amount of time. Also, the hose that connects to the bottom falls out easily when vacuuming. The only positive side is the suction is by far the best I've had in a vacu of this price.

I was so excited to finally get a good vacuum. I like the rotator feature and the 2 levels of power. The first use it worked great, now, everything I use it the dirt clogs up in the lower tube every time. Very frustrating as I was preparing my house for Christmas.
