I bought this because of the great reviews I read, all were good , now I am here to say that for the price of this pergola, I was highly disappointed that the posts are hollow and they used 2 pieces of wood GLUED together to make each side. Wow, mine sat outside until I got it put up, and every post started separating. I called and told them and they sent more posts, the bottom they put a solid piece in the opening to make it look solid but other end is wide open! I am very disappointed in the quality of this product, beware

I had the gazebo assembled in September. The crew that put it up worked quickly and did a great clean up job. The gazebo is very functional and receives so many compliments on the look. It is extremely sturdy and provides great shelter from the Michigan elements. It is nice to be able and sit outside even when raining.

We just had this installed today and are extremely happy with it! I'm glad we paid for assembly as it comes in so many pieces. The entire process was so good - notifications about delivery dates and setting up the installation date. The installers were incredible and did an outstanding job. We couldn't be happier and would highly recommend (in the Los Angeles area - can't speak about installers elsewhere).

First bit of advice is don’t print using dark ink on a clear plastic bag when the contents of the bag are the same color as the ink. Second, the manifests detailing what each box contains should all be accessible without having to open each box. This would allow people to strategically unpack things and organize them. I just started assembling today so I will update the review as I progress.

I purchased and built a 16x12 Barrington Gazebo this past summer and we have absolutely loved it! I would say that everyday that we had good weather, we were under it. We thought that even in a light rain with no wind, we could hang out, but unfortunately, without anything catching the rain dripping off the roof, it would hit the concrete and splatter back under the gazebo, making the practical usable area very small under the gazebo. Backyard Discovery does not offer a gutter system for their gazebos, and I really didn't like the look of the offerings from some of the other gazebo manufacturers out there. So, I designed my own. It was relatively simple, but would have been easier had I done it when first building the unit. First, I removed the trim pieces around the outside of the roof. Then I added 4" flashing under the roof panels, hanging down the facial board about 3". I had purchased steel J channel (brown, nearly the same color as the supplied trim), which I attached under the flashing with a stainless steel screw through the flashing and J channel into the facial board. I had to cut, bend, rivet, and caulk the corners of the J channel. I also had to make sure there was a slight slope from corner to corner so the water would flow correctly. On the lowest corner (opposite corner being the highest), I simply channeled the water out into the yard, instead of a downspout. Although a downspout would work also. Then I reinstalled the original trim with it also handing into the J channel. It really turned out great, looks great, and works perfectly. It handles light to medium rains easily, and allow us to hang out under the gazebo and stay dry. I think it would be great if Backyard Discovery would include this with the gazebo originally, or as an option. But until then, this is a great DIY for it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a complicated build. Be sure you have friends and/or family to help. Take the time to label all parts and it is helpful to put all hardware in separate containers that are clearly marked. You will need minimum of 3 and better to have 4 people to place the roof sections. Have quick clamps ready. There are several sub assemblies that can be done ahead of time to expedite the process (14’ beam and top frame assemblies).

I purchased this gazebo this summer and hired someone to assemble it for me. They never found time so I did it myself. I must say there are so many good things about this set. Very good quality materials that for the most part fit together like a glove. They even give you extra screws/bolts/washers which I needed because I dropped a few in the grass and could not find them and I stripped a couple screws (my fault). I did have a few problems but since I am not a professional handy man, it could of been my fault. You must get the roof framing within the correct dimensions as stated in the instructions. The 10' sides were off a slight bit and I could not get it fixed. This caused a little problem later. The roof pieces are heavy so it will take 3 strong people to set them up and secure them. The paper instructions were OK but I had to use Youtube to verify some things...and there's an app you can download too that helps allot. If you are considering it, do it.

We love our new addition to the patio and while we installed it late in the season for much use, we look forward to next spring and summer. Install was work, but for the most part straight forward. We had help lifting roof sections in place as well as the initial four posts. We took our time, followed the paper instructions mostly and are very happy with the result. We sealed it with Thompsons sealer-before the roof panels were on which was a wise decision. And yesterday, we hung 5 strands of vintage large Christmas lights under the roof! Highly recommend

We purchased this gazebo a few months ago and we are very happy with it. Everything was included that we needed to erect it. The lumber was pre-cut to the correct dimensions and the holes were all pre-drilled. Our sons helped us build it on a Saturday and we were finished by mid-afternoon. The only thing we didn't realize until after we purchased it was that we were strongly encouraged to apply a sealer to all the lumber before erecting it. While that required a little extra prep time, we're glad we did it. Other than that, everything was as we expected.

Great value for the money. Gazebo is well constructed and provides a great addition to any home. Word of caution...don't use GoConfigure for installation. Our experience was horrible! It took approximately six weeks to get someone scheduled for installation, and the installers were terrible. We used the app thumbtack to hire a crew to install our gazebo.
