Not only has it caught bugs, but it served as a nightlight as well. It is easily removable. I can simply remove the insert when it is full and install another. I've used these before, and the plug tends to last a while. I highly recommend this product.

I live in Florida, so there's so many different flying insects; mosquitoes, fruit flies, gnats and more! I had this plugged in for 2 days, and all I can say is, wow! The instructions were easy to follow, and product itself was designed beautifully. The blue light is what catches the insects attention. I do not think there's a smell to this either, which is a plus. Slightly bigger than expected, but no big deal. Highly recommended!
