There was no assembly, I took it out and plugged it in. To remove the bug filled strip and replace it is also super easy and convenient. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars

After only a few days I can see that it is working and has caught several flying bugs. There is no odor from the sticky pad. It is easy to use and appears to be durable.
