Only got about 22,650 miles out of these tires!

I bought my first & last set of Michelin Premier A/S tires for my 2008 Lexus RX400h in February 2018 & only got about 22,650 miles out of these tires, even though I faithfully had tires rotated & balanced. The tire warranty says 60,000 miles but that was definitely not the case for me. I had to buy new tires today (1/7/20) due to unsafe tire thread remaining. I purchased Michelin Defender LTX M/S this time around. Hopefully I’ll have better luck with these new tires.

Bad Tread Life

I have these tires on my 2021 AWD Pacifica. I was very disappointed to find out yesterday after 20,000 miles the tread is down to 3/32. I wasn't planning on new tires for Christmas, but I am not sure I am comfortable going through a central New York winter on these tires.

The only tire for me.

I had four Michelin Premier A/S tires installed on my 2004 Toyota Camry in Sept., 5, 2014. I notice the difference as to how smooth, quiet and excellent handling, specially in the rain. I have driven the car 50,000 round trip from NY to FL, and I still feel as confidence as I did when I first bought them. I have been working in the automotive field for over forty years, have inspected a lot of tires and driven quiet a few miles and because of my experience with these tires I have to say that they are excellent. I only wish that they would make them for my 2006 GMC Sierra , but that's another story. Overall, Michelin is a great tire.

This tire saved my life

I was driving on the wet highway changing lanes suddenly there was stopped vehicle in front of me at 90 km an hour I had to swerve to avoid this vehicle the tires in the wet gripped like they were on a rails. The tires were 5O% worn out at the time. In the heavy snow thet are ok i have AWD.

Not as good as reviews would leave you to believe...

I have a 2004 Toyota Camry with over 260,000 miles on it and I have been driving Michelin tires for years. But the tire I had been using was discontinued and these were recommended. I read up on them and the reviews were all good. But after purchase, it seemed as though they were never able to balance them properly. Unlike prior Michelin's I had, the ride was always on the harsh side. I had my car looked over by my mechanic and they could find nothing wrong. Now at 40,000 miles and no where near the warranty, I'm just at the wear bars and need new tires. When new, they were very good in heavy rain. Now, they feel unsafe. Won't purchase again.

Don’t expect 60,000 miles

I got about 35,000 miles out of a new set when they got to 3-5/32 all around. Local reseller explained that the warranty required they be worn to 2/32 to be covered. This meant driving with 3/32 of tread on the front tires this past winter. Finally got the front tires to the magic 2/32 with 48,000. While the prorated warranty will cover some replacement costs. The thought of asking anyone to drive with such low tread depth again is not worth it. Keep the $50, I’ll take sound of mind, thank you.

We understand the Premier A/S tires on your vehicle did not meet your expectation in terms of mileage. A member of our Consumer Care team will be in contact with you. You may also reach our office at 1-866-866-6605.

#1 for longer

Most tire ratings and comparisons are done as new. In real life I wanted a tire that performs best from new to end-of-life. The Michelin Premier does just that, with it's unique groove design. Water distribution usually suffers as tires wear and Michelin has found an answer to this issue. Compare this tire at 50,000 km and it beats all others hands down.

Nothing premium except the price

I am most disappointed in the Premier A/S. The ride is very rough and brittle, irrespective of the various tire pressures I experimented with. Every road imperfection is transmitted granularly into the vehicle, and the tires howl on the interstate and rumble over every road surface. Fuel consumption increased about 2 mpg. They are certainly no replacement for the Primacys as far as ride quality and noise is concerned. Having had very good experiences with many different Michelin tires over the years, this is the first Michelin product I can honestly say is not worth the money. There is certainly nothing premium about them, except the price.

Loved the MXV4, but all good things. . .

Had to replace the tires on my daughters 2002 Honda Accord EX. Immediately could tell a difference in handling and accelleration. The car drove like new again. Much quieter as well. This might be true of any new tire, but Michelin has always been a solid choice and the previous Primacy MXV4 was always what I put on my car. The idea behind the new Premier tire makes sense and as long as the harder rubber lasts as long as the warranty, they will be well worth the extra $$$. Could have put cheaper tires on this car, but hard to put a price on your daughter's safety.

GOOD ON PRIUS

I chose this tire to replace the very worn out Bridgstone Etopia et20 on my 2012 Prius. Realizing these are not low rolling resistant tires, I wanted a great wet weather traction tire on my wife's car. The car became an totally different car after putting these on. Handling is much improved, traction is good, even road noise is better(especially over uneven pavement). My expectation of loosing a few MPG did not happen. My MPG is the same or only 1 MPG less. Well worth the improved feel of the car. I even like the looks of the tire on the car. I have not yet used these tires in snow, but feel like they will do much better then any LRR tire.
