Great one, had both the R4 and the r7.... r4 is way newer technology, along with the r8, way better detection and overall performance over the r7!

Having used radar detectors for at least the last 18ish years and the Uniden R3 for the last 6, including 3 separate updates to the R3, this R4 is insanely quiet and non chatty. It performs as well as the R3 in long distance/accurate alerts while the false alerts are rare. I got the R4plus February 20 this year and i am sure that over time it will prove more beneficial than my R3 has been. Great detector and phenomenal bang for the buck.
