I've been a Uniden Fan since the R1(which we still have and my daughter uses). I switched to the R8 which has been fantastic. However, i needed a dedicated detector for my motorcycle as switching was a pita. I found the R4 at Sams for a great price(sub $300) and it has been fantastic! The range is as good if not better than my R8. The smaller footprint makes it easier to mount on my motorcycle

Excellent radar detector! Super long range. Much quieter than my previous detector. Excellent price from Sam's Club. Definitely worth the price.

There is no better detector for the money. Sams club is about $60 cheaper than other retailers. This detector has excellent range in all bands. I plan on buying another.

The Uniden R4 is packed with features in a small package.

Picks up signals from a half mile away!

Works well I like it. But.. Some newer vehicles don't come with the old "cigarette" lighter plug and that's the only way they give you to power the device. I had to purchase an adapter
