I LOVE these racks but shipping sure does a number on them. I purchased 4 sets of the beautiful gray ones. Most of the top stoppers were cracked and unusable. Not a big deal for me since these are in the basement. Some of the shelves also had bends in them and some nicks. If they were going anywhere other than in the basement, I'd have exchanged them. I have purchased hundreds of these racks for my work and they hold up incredibly well. I think they need sturdier boxes and corner guards for the ones that are shipped.

I bought seven of these for some shop organizing. Out of seven, four of the units were damaged. I purposely did an in store purchase to avoid shipping damage and what do you know I still got bent shelves and poles. The boxes we're in great condition so this tells me that sam's or their supplier has poor quality control. Shelves bent so bad that they either won't go down properly or only work as the top shelf. If I bought 7 and 4 were damaged then I know some people buying one are getting either good or bad product. The shelves are actually a great product if you receive damage free product, but you may get damaged pieces so the $89 is a risk. If it wasn't such a hassle to load these back up, I would demand a refund.

Really nice storage rack. Two small problems. Missing shelf inlay and shelf slip sleeves would not hold on one location. Tried multiple sleeves on desired location. All clicked into place but none held. All other locations went together without trouble.

I've been using this product for many years (and have watched it improve) over 3 different locations and through two moves! I've ordered more on several occasions and never regretted the effectiveness for the price. They are not at all difficult to adjust shelfs or completely dismantle and reassemble.

I love these shelves. They’re versatile, sturdy and if using the casters, easy to roll to another area. Just a word of caution … instead of cutting open the entire box to reveal the contents, I opened only one end and pulled everything out. After separating the contents, I noticed several damaged black plastic circular pieces and edge protectors. Later I found they were just that … protectors. Thread protectors by way of another reviewer and the rest being protectors for the corners of the unit, all meant to discard. I freaked out for a moment thinking I had damaged everything but all the true pieces you will need will be bagged up. It may still benefit you to cut around the entire perimeter of the box and open it like a pizza box instead of pulling everything out. Another thing I found helpful was when connecting the upper and lowers bar, to have them both on the ground so they’re level and then thread them together, using WD-40 around the threads to make it easier. One or two kept getting stuck for me otherwise. Lastly, I found a dead-blow hammer was really useful in driving the shelves in place onto the plastic stoppers, making sure everything’s level before you start. I just counted the rungs on the bars to get the correct placement and that worked for me. So in the end, the only thing I ended up using was a dead-blow hammer and WD-40. So worth it … these shelves are awesome.

I bought this shelf unit at my local club today after some research. It is not yet assembled, but I have unpacked and inspected every part and it is very well made. First, I looked at the pdf file and saw that it is made by Seville. Their products are not USA made but the design and engineering are first class, in my opinion. (I have both versions of their 72 inch rolling work benches and three of their 24 x 28 cabinets - all bought at Sam's) To answer some of the questions posted in the questions and answer section, the box, as picked up at the club, is marked 89.7 pounds and measures 48 inches x 18¾ inches x 9¾ inches. I'm also a member at the competing club in my city and they offer similar unit with similar specs. I looked at the competitor's offering first and their shelves had the zig-zag wire trusses on both sides of the shelves and three rods welded to the cross rods of the shelves to prevent separation. I went to Sam's and their unit's shelves had the same edge trusses plus a third truss in the center with rods welded to the cross wires between the center truss and the edges on each side. The purchase was an easy decision.

Bought the graphite finish ones and the graphite is flaking off; noticed after assembling them and don't want to have to disassemble to return but disappointed in the quality. Had purchased the chrome finish years ago for our own place and it has lasted over 15 years so expected same for the ones purchased for a gift for our son's new home. Plus the shelf liners weren't a good fit - will need to trim. Don't remember that being an issue with ours, either. Has the quality diminished? Recommend product but not this finish.

This took forever to get to me. It came to my state and then went half way around the country before coming back. It had apparently lost its shipping tag for awhile. It was heavy!! And so the FedEx driver just dumped it in the grass beside our driveway. Once it was in the house I opened the box and carried the pieces down to the basement a few at a time. The directions were a little confusing. The plastic pieces look as if they should snap together but don’t. Finally I realized that the shelves would slid over them but I think there has to be a better way to do this. Anyway I finally got it together and was really surprised with how much it holds. I came upstairs and ordered two more. For the price I’m orettty pleased.

I bought this shelving system and it is great. I have my plants on it. Its great because you can move it out to clean under it or to clean the windows behind it. Its very sturdy and also a nice looking piece. I would recommend this item for any room or any use. Thinking about taking out the pantry shelves and putting in a couple of these instead.

it's not often that I feel something is worth every penny spent, but this is one of those times. These shelves are rock solid, large and strong. Everything in the package is protected and there is extras of all the small parts. The shelf liners are a nice touch. Goes together simply, helps if there are two people to handle the shelves, andit only takes 10 minutes. Wall anchors are great for peace of mind that it will never tip over, especially if some little one tries to climb it. Shelves are adjustable to match your needs. It is tall so we put paper products on the top shelf. Really helped clean out our small pantry and get better organized. I liked them so much, I'm looking to get more for the garage.
