Very little noise reduction.. Why?

I replaced stock tires on my 2014 Mazda 3 i Touring with Premier AS hoping these new tires would reduce road noise since they are supposed to be the successor of MXV4. Michellin's own web site even gave this tire a rating of 10 in comfort category. However, what I found is that noise reduction is only noticeable on super smooth asphalt pavement but how often do you get to drive on *super smooth* asphalt streets? 99% of streets in LA are non-smooth asphalt or concrete pavements. Just driving on the concrete paved 105 freeway near LAX makes me depressed because I still hear the same loud tire roar I had with Stock tires.

Bad Tread Life

I have these tires on my 2021 AWD Pacifica. I was very disappointed to find out yesterday after 20,000 miles the tread is down to 3/32. I wasn't planning on new tires for Christmas, but I am not sure I am comfortable going through a central New York winter on these tires.

60,000 mile tire, 60,000 miles driven.

I put a set of four on my 2011 Honda Accord Crosstour on Sept. 2015. At 60,000 miles today, not quite at the top of the wear bars but getting close. With winter approaching, looking to replace this set with the same model. Pretty sure this same tire model was also the factory set and drove 60,000 miles on those too. I do take good care of my vehicle including tire pressure and rotation and wheel alignment. Tread doesn’t look aggressive but never had a bad experience in snow. Great wet weather traction. Only “complaint” is that they are a bit noisy on the highway and minor bumps in the road are like drumbeats.

Good tire, however...

I've used nothing but Michelin tires for 40 years. I've been very satisfied over the years and have gotten more miles than the predicted mileage. However, this is the second set of Premier A/S tires I've had. The first set I got 38,000 miles and the second set, which I'm about to replace, I've gotten 49,000. I've gotten wheel alignments as required and the tires are rotated every 5,000. I'm disappointed and am considering buying a different brand.

I can feel and hear the tires grip on wet pavement

These tires replaced excellent, but worn Goodyear Assurance Triple Tred tires that were very good up to 40,000 miles of combined extreme winter and all seasons of weather. I bought these because they where the top rated All Season tire for my road conditions, which are quite variable. Last winter they performed excellent, probably a little better than the Goodyear tires when they were new. I am impressed at their wet highway performance. So much so, that I bought another set for my 2011 Subaru Legacy last month. I also enjoy the confident grip of these Michelin Premier A/S tires when turning on and off the interstate

Two sets wore out quickly

We went through two sets of Michelin Premier A/S tires on our 2014 Honda Pilot EX-L. Both sets rode very well with very little noise. Handling and breaking were excellent. The only downside with the Premier A/S tires (at least on our Pilot EX-L) is that we were not able to get close to the warranted 60,000 mile tread life on either set of Premier A/S tires. We got just below 30,000 miles on both sets of tires. This time around we gave up on the Premier A/S tires and switched to Defender LTX M/S tires which I have used for years with success on my truck. The dealer (and presumably Michelin) were good to deal with - they credited 45% of the original purchase price for the Premier A/S tires towards a new set of Defender LTX M/S tires.

Only got about 22,650 miles out of these tires!

I bought my first & last set of Michelin Premier A/S tires for my 2008 Lexus RX400h in February 2018 & only got about 22,650 miles out of these tires, even though I faithfully had tires rotated & balanced. The tire warranty says 60,000 miles but that was definitely not the case for me. I had to buy new tires today (1/7/20) due to unsafe tire thread remaining. I purchased Michelin Defender LTX M/S this time around. Hopefully I’ll have better luck with these new tires.

Lasted a while

Purchased a set of these in 2015 and put 80617 miles on them since I track total miles every time I get fuel. Mileage was in moderate climate with all weather and virtually all interstate highway (along I-66), maybe a few hundred miles outside of that. Decent performance in packed snow or ice a few years back, but I am a decidedly cautious driver on those surfaces. Need to replace them now as they're getting very low tread and a little slippery on wet surfaces although still performing well enough to easily drive at speed so long as substantial follow distance is given.

Great tires!

I’ve had these tires on my ‘16 Ford Focus since September of 2018 and have put almost 40k miles on them. They are way better than the stock tires that came on the car! They did not affect my gas mileage, are quite on the road (expressway too), and I’m not sure why people are having issues with them prematurely wearing because mine still have more than half of the tread left! I religiously rotate them though (every 6-7k miles). They perform well in all weather conditions. Highly recommend!

36,000 and Failed / Down to Wear Indicators

Premier A/S 235/55R18, 2013 Ford Escape SE, well maintained, aligned, rotated, mild driving style. 3 years old, two shifted belts and not enough tread to pass inspection. Very disappointed! Dealer said not worth trying on the prorated warranty. Never had such poor performance from Michelins! Do not buy these tires, they are not worth the money.
