I bought the Saxony XL grill gazebo two years ago and assembled it by myself. If you are assembling it by yourself, I recommend assembling the roof on the top, unlike I did… This has withstood two winters in New England, with a lot of snow last winter. The Cedar wood remains very strong, clean (as advertised), and the overall product is very durable. This gazebo provides a really enjoyable way to cook in the outdoors without an outdoor kitchen. I recommend this to anyone looking for a nice entertainment/grilling area with the right space for it.

This review is actually of our XL Saxony Grill pergola…just finally finished installing last week. The pergola was easy to put together. Instructions were very clear, and 3d view was very helpful. My wife and I put as much as possible together in preparation for our sons joining us to connect the four posts and add the roof…it now houses our original outdoor kitchen. It is our 2nd Backyard Discovery pergola (you can see in the picture, behind the Saxony XL, our Arcadia Pergola, which we use primarily for concerts and movies). Great product at a reasonable price! Make sure to read and follow instructions to the T. That made assembly very easy. Also do yourself a favor and pre stain the entire gazebo before you put together. Looking forward to may years of enjoyment

I've had an excellent experience with the Backyard Discovery Saxony Grill Gazebo. The cedar construction is sturdy, attractive, and looks great on my patio. I bought and assembled my grill gazebo earlier this month. The kit was very well packed and came with all the necessary hardware including some extras! The directions were fairly easy to follow but you need to pay attention to the details in the pictures. I found it easier to build the roof structure and mount it before installing the roof panels. It was much lighter to lift with two people. Once installed, we added the roof panels one by one using two ladders. The gazebo looks great and is very functional. I have both my pellet grill/smoker and BBQ side by side under the gazebo!!

I purchased my Backyard Discovery Saxony XL grill gazebo to for our outdoor grill station. All of our parts were in great condition and install was pretty straightforward. It's great having a place to cook and serve hot off the griddle or smoker . Couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Fit and finish were great. Does take quite a bit of time to assemble. I was in construction for years and it was challenging. The only help I had was lifting the roof up. Get yourself a set of good clamps to help temporarily holding things in place. A must.

Very happy with end results. Found that a good set of clamps is a must if you are assembling it by yourself. The only help I needed was to lift the roof sections up. Not to say it was easy to assemble. I was in construction most of my life and I found it challenging. Make sure to follow the directions to a tee. Take your time. Anyone that says they assembled it in a few hours is not telling the truth unless they have an experienced crew.

This is my second Gazebo from BYD and couldn't be happier. This one covers my outdoor kitchen and, just like the one I have covering my hottub- its rock solid, real cedar, and easy to assemble. I live in the PNW and having cover- that will not rot and stay beautiful- is essential.

We bought our grill gazebo about a month ago and were able to put it together this weekend. It took us about six hours. Most parts lined up well, some needed “coaxing”. Overall we are very pleased with the results and love the way it looks on our patio. It is our second outdoor structure from Backyard Discovery.
