Good choice for Back Up

I did my research and purchased this to replace my Husky 5500. It is a bit louder but was expected. Still quieter than most brands. Built very stable and comes with most important features. I hook it up to a transfer switch and powers most of the house. Starts fast and runs smooth. Looks like it will give me years of satisfaction. Very nice generator.

Great value

Bought this product as emergency back-up generator for home to provide power to refrigerator/freezer and well during outages. Excellent value and dependability. Will upgrade to home standby generator next year to power whole home and move this to garage for powering tools.

Won’t even run a freezer or frig

Just bought this product from Lowe’s today 10/27/2019 after pg&e shut off our power. Got it all hooked up and plugged in a small freezer and a frig. After ten minutes the gfi keeps tripping. Tried all 120v 20amp outlets and even the 240v and 30 amp the power keeps shutting off and the generator keeps running. I will be returning this product, sad to say. It looks like a great generator but failed me.

Easy to assemble

As I have not needed to use it yet , all I can say is it was easy to assemble and started up with the first pull . Love the big gas tank and the wattage will be sufficient to cover most everything needed in an outage . Will be installing an interlock kit . Will have running water but probably no hot water , washer , dryer or stove to cook on .

Worked PERFECTLY, as expected!!

Last night was the "maiden voyage" of my new 8000 Watt generator, as we lost power from the explosion of a local transformer from heat related power overload. GENERAC to the rescue...it took all of 10 minutes to roll the generator out of the garage, hook up the power cable, start the machine, flip the transfer switch and back to the comfort of lights, TV and A/C, etc. While my old 3500 WATT generator performed well for the past 12 years, A/C was not an option, nor was using the microwave and other applicances. My new GENERAC machine performed flawlessly with gasoline consumption and noise both being reasonable. Bought it directly from GENERAC; the process and delivery were convenient and easy. I recommended this unit to my next door neighbor last night and he bought one this morning, and I would recommend GENERAC to everybody. Great product and great customer service (sales and delivery).

Let me down during the storm

Helene came through, purchased this generator and it ran for less that 25 hours and wouldn't keep running. Took it to the local services center and had to pay $40 for them to evaluate it for repair. Makes me leery of investing in a whole home system through generac.

Just the right size for household needs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this 3600 watt generator about a week ago and I am so glad I got it. I had been looking into getting one since Irma came through and we lost power for a week. Now I have one big enough to run my chest freezer, refrigerator, a lamp and a fan. The box came damaged, but the product was in tact and had all the bolts required to put the handle and wheels on.

Thus far all is well with the generator

This is my third season with this generator and thus far it has worked as it should. I don't have any experience with other generators and brands so I cannot tell how this specific model is relative to the others but thus far, it has not let me down. Some observations though. 1. The battery is on a trickle charger and this keeps the battery fully charged. This is a good thing because it takes a great deal of effort, at least for me, to use the manual start. 2. This one is a gripe. The manual states that old fuel should not be kept in the fuel tank. I get it. However there is no easy way to drain the fuel! I use a hand pump to remove the old fuel at the end of each season. Generac could have easily added a de fueling valve to its gas tank.

Solid Heavy Unit

I bought this unit last year to run my new 24 ft. concessions trailer G-Dub's Grub which I opened 2 weeks ago. I have worked 2 large events with 20 hrs on meter. It runs the 30 amp service easily-- lights, water heater, water pump, fridge etc. All filters, oil drain, spark plug easy to get to, which is a big reason why I bought it. Getting ready to change to Mobil 1 10W-30 synthetic w/ extra Generac filter sent with unit. I use 89 grade non-ethanol fuel. Multiple power options here folks. Heavy USA made unit. My problem with this unit is it's too heavy for me and staff (female) to handle 390 lbs. Overkill on my part. Just bought extended warranty plan last month. Weighing my options.

Good value.

Starts easily using the pull start. Would think the electric start would be fine for an old lady. Like the extended run time as the unit uses so little fuel. I'm using 100% straight gasoline with a bit of Seafoam added which should give me a fuel shelf life of two years if need be. The use of an Generic safety transfer switch (nicely prewired) and an alm. Generac inlet box completed a functional and good looking insulation. We are using eight circuits which required the addition of two mini breakers in the Generac switch panel. That's no problem for an electrician. Bringing the system to ten circuits requires an additional breaker box. A bit noisy but not too bad. My wife says it's "a life saver."
