Great stand by generator.

I bought this unit as a whole house backup generator. It has not let us down. Last year while camping got a text from the power company saying power was out at the house. We came home and I fired the genny and it ran very well with the central ac and refrigerator and freezer all running at the same time. Power was restored about 5 hours later. If not for the backup we would have lost over a thousand dollars worth of food.

Great product for the price.

I already had a Generac Pressure Washer and it has worked great so I did some research on their portable generators and they looked like they also had good quality. I purchased one a few weeks ago and it is a very well built generator. It has performed better than expected.

Won't start.

I bought it at Sam's Club (06 JUN 22) and assembled it per the instructions. I fired it up once and it ran for a few minutes. When I shut it down and attempted to restart it, it wouldn't fire. It just makes backfiring noises. It still doesn't start or run. Needless to say, I am not pleased! Your phone rep was supposed to forward me a list of authorized repair shops, but I have yet to receive it. I want my generator to run in event of a power loss. Please help me to reconcile this situation.

Love it

I had an old 12,000 or 10,000 watt Generac not sure what year it was that would run my house off transfer switch. It came with the house n was stored under wood box by transfer switch. I bought the house in 1993 and bought a new cheap generator in 2012 to replace the old Generac . I never used the new generator that was a 12,000 watt other than letting it run a bit every 3 months. We had a bad storm in 2020 and I used it everyday for a week till it came apart n the air filter caught on fire plus I could not run a lot of stuff in the house. I just bought the Generac 1500 and used it once on a power outage n it ran whole house. I’m impressed with the quality of the Generac

This unit meets all of my expectations so far

I purchased this unit to replace an older smaller unit. It runs quiet for its size, and the large fuel tank means I don't have to fill up in the middle of the night. It is installed in such a way that I can feed the entire 200AMP Panel, and choose which circuits I want to power. I used it during our last snow storm, and put 14 Hrs on it of continuous use other than to shut down to fill it once. I am able to run my furnace, Well pump, Sewer pump, upright freezer, 20Cu ft refrigerator, 1.5 Cu Ft refrigerator, one light in each of the 3 bedrooms, a light in the living room, and a cable box & flat screen TV, and night lights in the bathrooms. If you have children, you understand the need for the TV and night lights! I usually leave about 10 circuits powered on, and monitor what is used on each circuit. Do you homework, figure out your wattage draw, and you will have no problems. Just be sure to balance your load draw. I chose the Generac because of their products are built well, and have a great track record. Best investment by far to keep a "happy family" when the power goes out.

Great Investment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased the Generac GP9500E Tri Fuel Portable Generator, and it has proven to be an incredible asset for my power needs. The flexibility to run on gasoline, liquid propane, or natural gas with just a simple turn of a dial is a game-changer, making it incredibly convenient for various situations. With a robust 12,500 starting watts and 9,500 running watts on gas, it delivers consistent power for multiple applications, whether I’m using it for home projects or during emergencies. I appreciate the onboard COsense® technology that provides peace of mind by protecting against hazardous carbon monoxide. The electric start feature is user-friendly, and the included LP connector hose makes transitioning between fuel sources a breeze. Plus, the ergonomic handle and never-flat wheels make it easy to transport. With a solid runtime of up to 9.5 hours at 50% load, this generator truly combines power, reliability, and ease of use, making it an excellent investment for anyone in need of portable power.

Started right up

We are up grading from a smaller 3.5 kw generator. This one has the 120/240 receptacle to be able to power our house during an outage. Installing a transfer switch so it is easier to use and safer for the linemen repairing the lines. This will allow me to run my air compressor. I put it together added oil, gasoline, and gave it a pull. Started right up.

Great Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This generator works amazingly. It was packaged well and was easy to put the wheels on it. The wheels make it portable and this is helpful for me to move from garage to basement to house. Runs well and is not loud. Was great to use after the hurricane hit NC.

First time Generator Purchase

Bought the Generac 6500E as a back up for my home. I live in New England and Power outages during the winter can be frequent. Spent 3 weeks without power the year before last and Swore that wouldn't happen again. Fortunately Did not loose power this year, but I am prepare now for the future. Product is reasonably priced, starts right up with the push of a button and runs without a hiccup. Only thing is I wish that it gave the option for alternative fuels, such as propane. Would be a nice back up incase gas stations are closed.

Not the quality produced I expected

I purchased my Generac generator right after the hurricane and initially it worked fine. After a day or so the 120V electrical panel started malfunctioning - the Ground Fault breaker kept tripping under load. Then it wouldn't reset at all. I had to source a four prong plug from Illinois to use the other electrical panel and that took days to get here. So, I had to go purchase a second generator - not a Generac. After normal household power returned, I took the Generac to a repair shop where it sat for four months waiting on parts. Overall, I don't think I would recommend a Generac to anyone. Poor quality and even worse warranty service. Now I have an $800 paper weight.
