Avoid! Seriously! Run! It's a $300 paperweight taking up a huge chunk of space in my cabinet. I purchased this stand mixer last time it was on sale. It lasted only 14 months, used maybe 20 times, and the motor is toast. I took it out to whip some cream for a cake, and it began screeching and squealing as the motor began to burn up so I turned it off and finished the cream by hand. The KitchenAid website is USELESS. I contacted customer service by email and by phone and there was no resolution as it was just out of the one-year factory warranty. I expected far more out if this product, and I am sure that anyone else would expect more too. I will never, ever purchase another KitchenAid product of ANY kind EVER again!

Ever since I saw a old kitchen aid stand mixer in one of the bakery in Houston for their decor. First thing came came to my mind was the color and unique personality of the machine. I planned to get it and it did not disappoint me at all. I'm using it everyday for making Roti dough & baking. It does the job well and I can save alot of time as not have to knead the dough with hands and I can prepare alot other things to cook or bake while the machine is running. ***Worth buying***

Had a tilting mixer that was 40 years old. I deeply regret getting rid of it. I thought I was upgrading, but this one sucks. Not only does it not reach the bottom or side sides of the bowl, but getting the bowl on and off the stand is a job in itself. The machine is very noisy, even louder than my 40 year-old version. Maybe I gotta reject, but I am not at all happy with my purchase.

Purchased in April 2024. Used primarily for bread and cookie making. Today February 2026 the machine started to leak oil all over bread dough. I was making one loaf so the mixer should have handled it with no problem. Not over heated and mixer is used on a regular basis. Bought to replace small artisan mixer which I feel worked better from the start.

Purchased one for my wife for Christmas, the first one was dead on arrival, exchanged for another and now, 30 days later after being used lightly about 4-5 times, won't turn on. This is ridiculous, for a $400 mixer. I'm not just disappointed, I'm saddened that my wife was so happy about getting this and now she says she doesn't want another, or any more products from this company if it's going to be this unreliable.

Bought this on sale at Sams club. Attached flat beater on our new kitchen aid stand mixer and the point rubs against the bowl. The troubleshooting directions show an adjustment screw that is supposed to raise the shaft to clear the bottom of the bowl but turning the screw has no affect on the height. Looks like a general flaw in the engineering of the device so I don't think swapping it out will resolve this malfunction. Returning to Sams club, color me dissapointed.

I'm very disappointed. This is the first time I have bought my own stand mixer, and at first, I was planning to go for a lower brand since I have a limited budget, but eventually, I decided to buy a Kitchen Aid due to its higher rating. I bought it yesterday, and after opening the box, I found it was poorly made. The flat beater has a couple of chips off and raised nubbins, looks like they didn't polish it at all before coating it. The wire wipe looks dim and has dark spots as it's been used before or stored for a very long time. Even the beater of the cheap stand mixer sold at Walmart is smoother than this. I'm very disappointed by this product considering Kitchen Aid's high reputation.

My husband surprised me with the black one several months ago. I use it all the time! My chocolate chip cookie dough is very thick, and my old mixer wore out because of it. This KitchenAid is unphased by it! The lowest setting appears to adjust to the contents, which is so helpful. I love the matte black color, the large size of the bigger bowl, and the fact that the smaller bowl comes with a stainless (dishwasher safe) attachment! I also have to mention the small gap between the paddle attachment and the inner edge of the larger bowl. If I don't have enough substance in the bowl, dinner of our gets stuck on the inner walls and doesn't get fully incorporated. I'm assuming I should be using the smaller bowl in those cases. Other than that learning aspect, it's a perfect machine! It even has a cord of generous length! Just treat yourself and buy one. You've earned it by all the time spent in the kitchen already ;)

This stand mixer is amazing. It does take a little learning curve to put the bowl back on but its just getting use to where to hold it to put it on. It has more than enough power for those heavy, thick doughs. Love that it comes with a smaller bowl and whisk for frosting and icing.

The mixer is actually great. I was just disappointed that the 5.5 qt mixer bowl does NOT have the splash guard lid. There's nothing at all. I can order one, and am looking now, but i think people need to be aware of it ahead of time so they could also purchase one. You'd think Kitchenaid could at least include the splash guard for the bowl. That's one of the main things I was looking forward to. Everything else is great.
