I bought two more of these chairs because I have four older ones of this style that I really like. Unfortunately since I own the older version I immediately saw the differences when I opened these new ones. The first thing I noticed was the bottom of the feet are now smooth plastic with no tread. It opens easier than my old ones but that’s not a good thing, the whole chair seemed more wobbly as I opened it compared to the old ones, I think it opens easier as a side effect of being less sturdy. But the detail that bothers me the most is the closure. They took away the nice thick piece of plastic that latched the chair shut and replaced it with a thin, cheap plastic snap. We carry our chairs around a lot and when that little clip breaks it’s going to be so annoying to try and keep the chair shut while moving it. Idc about the carry case or the random little strap that was wrapped around the chair, those pieces will immediately get lost a chair that can’t stay closed on its own is annoying and boo on members mark for cutting corners on such an important feature. I would’ve rather paid a few dollars more to get the same quality chair. Instead I spent more than my old ones (that I only bought a year or two ago I’m not comparing these to super old chairs) and got inferior products. This is the type of sneaky stuff that makes me start shopping other places. I understand everything costs more these days, but can it at least be the same quality? I was under the impression I was buying a solid product I was familiar with, not an inferior knockoff sold under the same name

If I too had reviewed these chairs within the first month of buying them I would have given them a much higher rating. Unfortunately, after owning these chairs for 2 years and 3 months with very little use (approximately 20 times over that period) the plastic brackets just under the front corners of the seats were broken. The chairs say they are rated for 325lbs and I only weigh 215lbs so I thought they would be well built to handle my weight. Apparently not! I have the older version that has the sewn-on buckle closure on the back. I believe they should have been more durably built without the plastic pieces in such a vulnerable location. I have two chairs, one blue and one teal model HA2849. See photos from another reviewer; mine split in the same places.

Loved the original version of these chairs, and still have a couple. We bought 4 new ones because we loved the ones we already had so much. All 4 are trash...the plastic that holds the front of the seat broke in the same place on all 4 chairs within 6 months.

I did lots of research all over the internet and visited a few different retailers looking for a good camp chair to purchase and came across this one online. I visited my local Sam’s club and luckily they had it in stock so I went ahead and picked up two of them. I can’t talk about the longevity of the chairs because I literally just bought them, however the initial impression is remarkable. They are very sturdy and comfy. I’d say they go neck to neck to chairs I tested at almost 90 bucks. Therefore for the price these are simply unbeatable. The one thing I have to point out is that these are heavy chairs and if one plans on doing long walks with them I’d say better look elsewhere to something a little lighter. Other than that they seem to beat mostly everything out there in terms of sheer value.

I bought this a month ago and i am dissatified with this chair. Recommending to stay away. When it was time to pack up, this partical fllding chair wouldn't fold at all. I even watched a youtube videos to see if there was some special technique but apparantly you need a hammer to take it apart! Since i didnt have one with me i ended up leaving the chairs at the beach

If all else fails, read the instructions. I own several of these chairs, probably a dozen fir tailgating. Simply pick upwards on the front cloth of the seat and the chair folds itself closed........Dont listen to these reviews from filks who dont read the instructions. They are strudy. Very comfortable and built to last.

We purchased three of these chairs one year ago. This is only second time using them. The first time was at a cookout this time was at the beach. BOTH times were an absolute nightmare to fold up. I am so upset with myself for purchasing these chairs. Do not waste your money. It is a true struggle. We even tried pulling up the center of the seat and nothing. Multiple family members tried.

Have 2 of these. Had no problem till going to the beach for the 1st time. Had to leave my husbands chair behind at the garbage can because it would not fold back up. My husband is pretty strong but when ur standing on a hot beach trying and trying to fold up a chair it becomes a problem when it was just sat on prior to walking to the beach. Mine was even hard to close but luckily it closed. Very unhappy with these chairs.

Bought some of these last year. 2 of them that we use on a somewhat regular basis (a few times a month during the summer) have both broken in the same places. We are nowhere near the weight limit and are not rough on our stuff. The 2 plastic brackets that connect the cross bracing with the front arm supports broke on both. Would not recommend or purchase again.

I have the version that's actually pictured in the 3D model and not the ones people seem to be getting recently that don't have the sewn-on buckle closure on the back. Maybe if you treat the chairs super delicately they might not break, but they're meant to be used for camping and such and should be built more durably.
