We are sorry to hear about the frustration of your seeding experience. Of course, our guarantee applies any time you're not satisfied. If you seeded this spring, you may still see results when the weather warms. It might also be helpful to note that chickweed, as a winter annual, germinates in the fall and grows through the winter.

Excellent for shade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm so glad to have found this! Nothing else could make grass grow under our big trees in the front yard, then I tried this and it was great. Thank you!

Works great in shade and sun

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This grass seed worked well in both full sun and shaded areas of my lawn. Used a Scott's hand spreader for effective seed distribution.

Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed is Spread on Our Bare Spots +

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We spread the Turf Builder Grass Seed on several bald spots on our lawn. With a week the little sprouts of grass are popping up. Next we'll be purchasing more for the shaded areas of the lawn.

Planted in June and I had grass in July

I needed to replant grass in a 20'X30' area and this product worked great. I planted in June and grass started coming up in 2 weeks. Used a spreader to seed the area.

This seed grew in poor soil and shade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally got grass to grow under a tree in poor soil. It took watering daily for a few days and I had sprouting grass.

Worked well thus far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I planted this in a relatively shady area with some afternoon sun. Grew like a weed after about 2 weeks and is still growing.

A very good product to use if you want to overseed in winter for a full lawn in spring

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this product every year in winter to overseed. I always have a full thick grass lawn in spring as a result. Recommend everyone to try it.

After three weeks, none of the seed germinated.

Over three weeks ago I planted Scotts Turf Builder Sun & Shade grass seed mix. To this day, none has germinated. A neighbor who planted the same product had the same results. I will send an email to Customer Service requesting a refund.

We apologize that our grass seed did not provide the results you had expected. It's certainly frustrating to go through the effort to prepare an are for seeding only to have the seed not germinate. There are several reasons why this may happen. Watering too much or not enough, improper temperatures, inadequate soil contact, or using a weed control prematurely can all influence the germination rates of seed. If you haven't already, we ask that you contact us directly so that we can discuss our guarantee and the product in more detail.
