Product will work any place on property

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used to fill in a area after cement work and tree removal. Because of stone flower garden and several different trees on property, and different sun exposure I skeptical of only using one seed. I do all my own landscaping and found the product easy to spread and Was pleased to fine a green lawn just about all over. Only problem was right next to wall and that required a second planting, which only made sense, as complete lack of sun, but for about 2 hours a day. Did take a steady diet of water daily x 2, but worth it.

Hurricane Sandy destroyed our lawn and only Scotts worked!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When Hurricane Sandy destroyed our family home in October 2012, the devastation was beyond our nightmares. After insurance issues and a lengthy construction project, our home was successfully re-built in 2014. Once the home construction was completed, then we addressed our front lawn damage caused by the flood waters -- which were extremely high in salt. We initially thought to remove the lawn and re-place with sod, but we didn't want to proceed with that option since sod can often look fake. So I investigated several lawn seed options, and selected a competing company's seed product, and was hopeful that the lawn would return to its gorgeous luster. That seed was deemed a horrible failure and all that grew was spotty, poor quality grass. So I looked at another company and tried another product. But this attempt can only be viewed as a dismal failure. So I spoke to an old friend of mine who had experience with lawn care in the past. He told me that I wasted my time with the other two companies and that I should buy Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix. Well, you can imagine how happy we were to see the results. The lawn has returned to its beautiful pre-Sandy appearance. My only regret is that I went through two other companies unnecessarily. I should have gone with Scotts from the beginning. Please let other Hurricane Sandy victims know about your product. We are VERY HAPPY.

Has grown where no grass has worked before

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a severe problem trying to grow grass in areas under old pine trees. We removed the 50 foot pines and planted Scott's seed in that area. Within weeks we had turf that equals that on the best golf courses. Thanks to scott's for great grass

It's amazing!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We live in a valley and have lots of trouble getting grass to grow. in addition, our house gets all the rainwater that falls anywhere on the hill by our house. These 2 conditions mad it nearly impossible to grow any grass. We began using Turf Builder® Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix and amazing things have happened! We have beautiful green grass that is the envy of our neighbors. Our bare spots have been covered with grass and now there are no more streaks where the water has run down the hill and across our lawn. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Scotts!

Great for major lawn replacement

I used scotts sun and shade with water smart mix two years ago to completely redo my front lawn which was destroyed by an unusually hot spell during the summer of that year. This part of the lawn must endure complete sun exposure from 11AM to 5PM. I did this work in late September. The following year saw a fairly well established lawn with a few bare spots. I applied more seed (which I had leftover) to the more visable bare spots in the early fall. I followed that in early December with an application of Scotts wintergaurd. This year I applied Scotts with Halts in mid March. The lawn has flourished (it is very thick, more so than ever before during the past fifty years) with no visible bare spots to date.

I recently planted grass about 2 weeks ago

Well I have used Scott products in the past and once again I've bought Scott's products for my lawn again. I was planning to plant grass in the spring time the reason being is I had sprinkler system put in and I top soiled my whole yard. I realize that fall is the best time to plant grass and spring is okay but summer is it's the worst time. Well it ended that I was not feeling well during the spring and summer so I planted grass about 2 1/2 weeks ago. And yes it is true like your label says the grass starts to peer in 7 to 10 days, my yard is filling in nicely. Thanks to Scott's and my hard work. And lastly it was meant to be that I planted the grass this fall. Thank You Steve Nedjoika

Open and Spread

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great product, open package and spread on lawn for a great turf building. Spread seed in sun or shade areas and watch the results. Lush green grass with little work. Just water and watch grass grow and get green.

Weeds and patches

I cut my sod, put down topsoil, and spread Scotts Sun and Shade. 3 days later i started seeing weeds. Couldn't figure it out. 2 weeks later i have more weeds than grass. There's some bald spots so I put down more Scotts Sun and Shade. Now i know where my weeds (by the foxtail) came from. 3 days later new weeds growing. My yard looks horrible, and I'm stuck with it now until the fall

I have used this product with great success

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After suffering from a late summer attack of grubs I purchased Scotts grass seed. By removing the old, destroyed brown grass I added Scotts grass seed and covered it with new soul. By watering each day a brand new crop of deeply green grass had filled each invested section completely by October. Currently these patches are growing and appear to be the healthiest grass anywhere in my lawn. I recommend Scotts grass seed for all your lawn needs.

Great Grass

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This seed is perfect for over seeding an existing lawn and to fill bare areas. It germinated quickly and has built in drought protection. Even though it was late in Fall grass now looks great and will be fantastic in spring.
