When my husband and I were first married, nearly 60 years ago, we had the money to purchase only one item of furniture. It was a Stearns & Foster mattress. Over the years when that mattress had to be replaced...and we needed beds for our two daughters, we opted for an unknown brand at a mattress store: big mistake. A second replacement for our own king size bed was a well known, well advertised luxury brand a friend had raved about. Another mistake. Well, at least I learned from my mistakes. With our nest empty, we needed a mattress for our guest room. We did our shopping correctly this time. Went to a high end department store, tested out all the mattress within our price range (and I do mean tested...by taking off our shoes and lying down), We chose a Stearns and Foster "Tropical Oasis: Saba Wind." Success. Happiness. Everyone who slept on the mattress commented on how comfortable it was. Fast forward to several months ago. My husband complained. Our "luxury" was way past its expiration date. He was falling into some kind of invisible hole he told me. I made an instant decision. I called Stearns & Foster and asked for the current iteration of our "Saba Wind." The very nice young woman who answered told me the Lux Estate Pillow Top Medium would be the updated version. I drove to a nearby store that had this exact model on the floor. Yes! Beautifully comfortable. Incredible support. Perfect. Firm yet not too firm. A pillow top with provided just the right amount of "give." We're thrilled. We made the right decision. We've lived and learned. The "bargain" mattresses were a waste of money. The famous brand earned no fame from us. It simply didn't hold up over time. We're back with Stearns & Foster, where we started out. And we're happy!

This is my first time to own such a luxurious mattress!! My husband and I both have been sleeping so much better. We ordered the medium tight top Lux estate and I am still in awe at how incredibly well made it is. It feels like sinking into a cloud at the end of a very long day!!!

Why are mattresses made so thick? It makes them too heavy. I have a king size mattress and I can barely tuck my sheets. Even my husband couldn't believe how heavy the mattress is. I used to be able to flip my mattress myself. Now I woukd need 4 stong men to do it. I think this should be considered when designing this product.

Replaced a previous Sterns and Foster (firm) in 2023 which was 8ish years old and was great. But due to age and the resulting pressure point issues (shoulders/hips) bought a Medium Lux king pillow top. After a few months the mattress formed two depressions which were very uncomfortable. (It did help with the pressure points). The depressions make it difficult to turn in bed or get out if bed. We placed folder blankets under the bed to counteract the depressions. Will not consider another Sterns and Foster brands when we buy a replacement in 2026.

I am a 6'2", 220 lb sleeper. My wife is a bit shorter a lighter. I'm a back and side sleeper. She is a side sleeper. If I don't have good back support, my low back will not like it. If the top is too hard, my wife's shoulders and hips will be heard about. We have never had a king size bed. OMG. And the mattress makes us both very happy. We do have to spin the mattress every 1-2 months (we have owned it about 3-4 mos now so maybe did it twice, just to mix up the pillow top a bit. I have to emphasize, my wife is picky, she is very happy.

Our previous mattress which we loved was Stearns and Foster. After 9 years of using it without sanginess or any other issues we decided to replace it, just because of its age. Considering our previous experience replacing our old mattress with Stearns and Foster mattresses was a blind choice that we felt confident about. Compared to our previous mattress there was a clear difference in quality even before we slept on it, e.g. there were multiple long hanging threads left over from the manufacturing process. We did not think much of this at first, after all a hanging thread is a hanging thread. Now our biggest problem, less than 3 months after purchase, one side sagged so much that it is uncomfortable to sleep on. Turning during sleeping feels like you are going uphill. We had to rotate the mattress 90 degrees to circumvent this issue. Now after close to a year and half turning the mattress is not helping. Maybe this mattress was a one off and maybe not. Probably if I reached out to Stearn and Foster they would replace it, but at this stage we decided to move on because they lost our trust. We just purchased a new different brand mattress today. Sadly, this was a disappointing experience. We loved our first mattress, we wish our second Stearn and Foster mattress was just as a good.

This is the worst mattress I have ever owned and I’ve owned some pretty inexpensive brands and spend about 200 nights a year in Hampton Inn hotels who use who knows what brand and really thought this mattress was going to be life changing. Prior to purchase I laid on a gimmicky pressure pad and was told this mattress is my best fit and I can say that I regret wasting money on this mattress. I wake every morning around 4am to go to gym and since buying this mattress I’ve had to delay my workouts for hours until my back stops aching.

We recently went to a friends house and we were fortunate enough to sleep on this mattress. I was experiencing severe pain in my L5 S1 vertebrae. The night that I slept on this mattress for the first time in a long time, I actually got a good nights rest. The following week when we were home, we opted to buy this mattress as it had proved to be a mattress that I could actually sleep on and rest on without having pain in my lower back.

I have tried several of Sterns and Foster mattresses sets and within 3yearsc they tend to sagg in the middle and bulge out on the sides . The warranty is strick depth of sagg must be a certain depth with no stains on the mattress or they will not honor the warranty and you have to take photos of the mattress and send them for review. The whole process may take months before you are notified whether they will replace your mattress. Save your money You can feel lumps in the mattress hard to get a good night sleep on it.

My husband and I have been through three beds in the last five years! I went back and forth many times debating the purchase of this mattress.....doing research on all different kinds of mattresses! Yes there are cheaper ones, however I am so pleased that I ended up choosing this one! We have had it since the beginning of the year.....so only a month in, but everyday we are both kind of surprised at what a difference this mattress has made in our sleep. We sleep through the night, we don't notice tossing and turning anymore, and a lot of the pain we used to wake up with has subsided.....not disappeared.....but not near as bad as it used to be.
