This is my first ever dash cam, and it has not disappointed! I wanted something on the cheaper side, yet great quality, and easy to use - and that is exactly what I got! You need to use the Garmin app to initially set up the device (format your microSD card, change the settings for saving videos, and to make sure the camera is properly aligned) but once that is complete you don't really need to touch the app again (unless you pay for/use the vault storage, which I find unnecessary). I use a 256GB MicroSD card in mine, and have it set up where once the card is full, it will delete/record over any "unsaved" video, so I pretty munch don't have to touch the camera again unless I need to review the footage. I have already recommended this product to my family and am even considering purchasing another one for myself for the back of my vehicle. *To clarify, mine is plugged into the cigarette lighter, so it only records when my vehicle is turned on*

Have one of these. They are great. Got this one for my granddaughter who drives about 80 miles a day when working. Dash cams are essential in today’s Commute. People lie, Dash Cams don’t. I highly recommend this unit.

Very discreet and inconspicuous, however, it's not that much smaller than the regular Garmin Dash Cam series 47, 57, 67W. Mini2 records at 1080p and 30 frames per second (fps). At 40 mph you travel almost 60 feet per second, so that's a frame every two feet(!). I ended up buying the Garmin 57 not because there's anything wrong with Mini2 -- It's great but it lacks GPS so no position or speed recorded in the data. Garmin 57 records at 1440p and 60 fps -- so about one frame every foot at 40 mph.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Walmart service is excellent, Garmin on the other hand is selling equipment that does not work with Apple play on newer vehicles, you cannot use Garmin Mini Cam while using Apple play simultaneously. Garmin should advertise this.

The app is super frustrating. Does not like Apple/Android CarPlay (they fight over the WiFi). It doesn’t come with a sd card. Records above average videos. The cord it comes with is super thin making it easier to install. If you really need the app to download a video to your phone it can be done within 10 minutes. It takes one long video and you can edit t pretty easily.

Bought this as I didn't want a supper annoying dash cam that gets in the way. Routed the wire above my headliner, down the A pillar, down the passenger side weather stripping and kick panels, under the passenger seat, and plugged it directly into my rear USB port. The cigarette lighter usb adapter it came with was defective so I opted to just plug it in directly to my car and haven't had any issues since. The app connectivity is glitchy and sometimes fails to connect and requires multiple attempts to get a live feed or to access the camera's memory. But at least you can always plug the sd card directly into a card reader/computer. Quality is pretty much standard. It's 2024 and dash cams are one of the last thing to improve technologically in terms of camera quality. So that is disappointing, but it is enough to prove your innocence in a front end accident. Always say the person's license plates out loud in the event of an incident in case the camera can't pick up the license plate so that its recorded on audio. I would compare the video quality to an Iphone 4 or 5.

When it works, it's great. Unfortunately, I'm on my third one. At least they keep replacing it, but with the old model with known issues. If I miss something critical because it's not working or is in the mail because they need it back before sending a replacement, it sure will suck.

Horrible shipping. Shipped the cheapest way possible. Came with damaged dinged up box of item. Be careful when buying from Walmart. You are really ‘Not’ buying from Walmart!
