The shelf is lightweight though so easy to reposition, but still sturdy. It'll hold a lot of files and also has a lock for the files if needed. The top 2 shelves I would use for photos or albums and the bottom 2 would be for heirloom type things I didn't want people to see . With this design I doubt people would know there's a filing cabinet in the bottom. Fully assembled and commercial grade parts would make this a long lasting edition to any home or office.
