I really like my new mattress. I tried it out for a couple of 15 minute trials in the store prior to purchase and it felt amazing. I actually believe the medium with a pillow top would have been my preference, but was not available to try. I sleep pretty well on this mattress but find I sink in a little more than I expected after laying in one position for a while, so that when I move from my back to side, I lightly wake, but return to sleep as the new position provides me comfort. The quality of the mattress will hopefully keep the support I need for years to come.

I carefully researched S&F and tried many different models. In the store I really loved the Lux Estate medium. The mattress I recieved had a sink hole in the middle. I quickly notified the store and they took prompt action to replace the faulty mattress. The new one I recieved also sinks much more than the store model that I fell in love with. It is better than the first one I recieved. However, I'm not up to another round of musical mattress, particularly since the second mattress is "signed" by the same person who signed the first sink hole mattress. I guess I am the chosen one that this person learns on. I'm very sure that I will be needing to replace this bed in a few short years, but when I do you can bet everything you own that it will NOT be a Sterns and Foster! Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

For that, I am incredibly grateful! I honestly wasn't expecting much from the mattress. As someone who suffers from an autoimmune disease, I've grown accustomed to aches and pains. For background, I added a 3" memory foam topper to my old bed just to sleep comfortably. My family likes to travel, and I actually take memory foam with me to try to make sleeping on a different mattress tolerable. I expected this new mattress to be a similar experience. I planned to try it for a few nights so that I could provide my (expected to be negative) point of view and then compare/contrast with my husband's opinion while I went back to my 3" memory foam. Now here I am, weeks later... No memory foam in sight! And I haven't even asked my husband's opinion. For the record, he hasn't complained, which basically means he likes it. I have no idea how the mattress does it, but I've been sleeping really, really well - no tossing and turning or waking up periodically throughout the night. I fall asleep quickly and wake up in the same position hours later. I had no idea how not-well-rested I was feeling until now. It's been amazing. Only time will tell if the experience continues, but I am feeling extremely optimistic. This isn't the outcome I expected, but I am so happy that the mattress has completely defied my expectations! One final note that I must throw in, even though it's completely irrelevant: the mattress is gorgeous! The deep blue with pattern... I'm sad that it has to be covered up; it fits the Lux Estate name perfectly.

The mattress is firm and supportive for your body, but the pillowtop adds a comfy layer so when you climb into bed you are surrounded with comfort. I will say this mattress is very thick and heavy. It's a bit hard to change the sheets because it's so heavy to lift and tuck the sheet under. We are using it on a platform bed so there is no need for a box spring. The first night was a little rough adjusting from a very soft to a very firm mattress. However since that first night i don't think i have ever woken up feeling so refreshed in a long time. I used to wake up several times a night, unfortunate result from insomnia. But, since getting this mattress, my nightly wake ups have been significantly less and even none a few nights. My back isn't hurting as much. But perhaps the best part is myself and my husband are not snoring as much. I have enjoy the height of the mattress, it is taller than our old one.

This mattress is both supportive and soft. I was skeptical because it is not a pillow top, but it was exactly what I needed. The soft pillowtop is like sleeping on a cloud! I feel totally supported as I sleep. I also don't sink into the mattress. This is important, because you don't want to have trouble getting out of bed! The mattress is also cool - I never feel hot during the night time. I have always bought higher end mattresses, so I am not comparing this mattress to a cheaper mattress under $1000. If you want to invest in pure comfort, this is a fantastic option! I would recommend to anyone who needed a softer bed.

My daughter shares my bed. My favorite part about the mattress is that when she moves around, it doesn't wake me. The whole bed doesn't move or shake when she moves around in the middle of the night. The mattress has also been helping my back feel better. I'm not waking up with back pain since I switched to this mattress! I will never buy another brand! I am so impressed with the overall quality of the mattress. The thickness is about double what my other mattress was as well.
