I loved this knife had it for 15- yrs. till I accidentally, I’m guessing, threw it in the trash. I already bought two more, as I have the butcher block full I got yrs. Ago. Best knife’s ever! The two I just bought are great but I know I will miss the one I accidentally threw away. It’s at a great sale price but then you ad shipping etc.charges and I can’t afford anymore. Would love to buy them but kinda high for me. Ty

When a 7in or 8in chef knife is too much for the job this gets it done! Great all arounder, showed up super sharp and quality build. Strongly suggest for any who might think a chef's knife is a bit unweildly.

This knife is very sharp and nice to use on smaller things like mushrooms, strawberries, and smaller tomatoes. I like the fact that it keeps my knuckles off the cutting board unlike a paring knife. The only negative thing I have to say is that the handle feels a little cheap.

We got our first 4 star knives (5 piece set) in the 1980s. We have since added steak knives, another paring knife plus Santoku and Nakiri models. The 5.5" prep is a new go to that is a really interesting "in-between" the European and Japanese styles.

Have used 4 star knives for more that 40 years and my originals are still doing fine I thought that this would be a good addition to the seti am used to working with a 10 inch chefs knife so this feels very light and the handle is the same size as a paring knife so is difficult for me to hold. It is a very pretty knife and sharp as a razor so I am not disappointed in the purchase and I suppose I might eventually get used to it

Overall I am enjoying the knife - the length is very well suited for various prep jobs and the initial sharpening was fantastic. I am a little disappointed that it feels very light weight and I'm not certain that it was a full tang. I would have preferred the same length and sharpness with a heftier feel and less blade deflection when trying to cut heavier skinned vegetables and fruits.

The blade is fine. A bit thin for my liking, but I like the size and knuckle clearance. The handle is way too small. I have small to medium sized hands, and it feels like I have very little blade control at times. Very unstable without a firm grip on the blade itself. Overall it’s somewhat of a disappointment. I wish I hadn’t ordered it.

Handle by shape matches my 4 star knives. However, the size of the handle is much smaller than the handles of my complete Four Star knife set. The size of the handle is about the same as the steak knives. Way too small to handle the function of this 5.5" Prep knife.

I have many of the other knives from the four star series but this one doesn’t feel as substantial as the other original ones. It’s too thin and lacks the gravitas of the others. The look and feel seem lacking the weight and comfort of the others. I’m disappointed.

The blade is very thin and makes me think this a cheap copy of the excellent 4 Star set I currently own. Everytime I open the knife drawer and look at it I think, "How cheap Zwilling has gotten."
