All weather conditions vary, yet the New England winters can play havoc on the power grid. Even though we are on the grid, we are a few miles away from the main lines, and we would lose power 3-5 times per winter season, from 1-2 days in duration. One day is not so bad, and makes the family actually spend time together, but 2-3 days of no heat, etc. becomes a little challenging in this electronic age. The Generator crossed that gap and provides whole house power during the storm even. On Natural gas (in my case) I'm not worried about Gasoline or Diesel, It auto starts, alerts me on it's performance, provides all the necessities and was well worth the investment. It's January, and we have already had three power outages, although they were only a few hours in duration, the generator would kick right in and provide a normal living environment while the crews fixed the lines. Would I do it again? I should have 5 years ago!.

This unit needs a wiring harness or a different location for the terminals. It is difficult to get the heavy wire into the limited space provided and the location of the terminals is not easy to reach. I have not had a power outage since installing so I am not sure how well it will work.

We live about 27 miles outside town and loose electricity an average of 10 to 12 times per year ranging from a few minutes to several days. We bought the 22kw version of the Generac whole house generator in November 2016 it been just over a year now and I must say WOW. Not only can you not hear the machine while in the house, with such a quick response time when the power goes out you miss very little. It takes a minute for the generator to come on, and when it does you back to normal. This was by far the best money we spent in a long time. After a hurricane & 4 days with no power, we bought a whole-house generator. Good reviews led us to choose Generac. It has already served it's purpose twice in the 3 months since it's installation. It's quieter than a portable & has kept us up & running with only a few seconds without power. It's no larger than the AC unit & it's case is unobtrusive. We chose propane with a buried tank. We sr. citizens are grateful for the peace of mind.

I was very impressed in the entire process. The initial survey to determine my needs, installation, and customer service have been top notch. Earlier this week we had a storm and lost power for 1/2 hour. The system worked flawlessly!!! You can not go wrong with Generac. Their certified installers are very well trained.

This is the first review I have ever written in my life. The day after Thanksgiving 2016 we had an ice storm, power was off for 6 days! the day after Christmas 2016 we had another ice storm, this time power off for 7 days! both times we stayed at my parents house (they have a Generac 20K) it ran non-stop every day, both times. We have since purchased a Generac 22K for our home, and it has worked great.

My new Generac whole-house generator eliminates the need to refrain from using heat/air during a power outage. Much more convenient. Also, the new plastic housing eliminates the serious rust problem we experienced with the prior metal encased unit. And finally, no more replacing the battery every year. The new charging system has come into the modern ages and does not charge all the time until the battery explodes. Like an iPhone or other device, it only charges when needed and stops at full charge. Overall, I am well-pleases with the new, larger unit and find greater peace of mind in ownership.

Service beyond the sale was great though I was given some confusing information from the the company recommended technician who serviced the product post installation. The 22kw generator was set up with parts supplied with the generator and was set up by an electrician as part of my new home build. Long story, short, there was a flex gas line supplied by the company to be used to connect the generator to the hard pipe gas line from my propane tank. The tech told me in no uncertain terms that the flex pipe was inappropriate to connect the main gas line to the supply line as the vibration caused by the generator could cause the flex line to fail and should have been hard piped directly to the generator. The propane supplier disputed that theory and told me that vibration caused by a hard piped connection would be more likely to crack and lead to either a fire and or explosion than a connection made with the flex pipe that was supplied with the generator. Otherwise, so far I'm satisfied with the product and follow up service that was provided.
