I have wanted one of these mixers for a long time and was finally able to purchase it!! Love it! Currently into making sourdough bread & is a big help in kneading the dough.

I've had a KitchenAid mixer since 2003. My spouse bought this mixer as a Christmas gift. The first time I used it, the mixer stopped working after a few minutes and would not turn back on. I contacted KitchenAid and they helped me send the unit back and they sent me a new one. I got the second mixer out of the box and it never turned on. I returned the second mixer to Sams. The Customer Service rep at the store told me that "tons of these have been returned because they don't work." I'm puzzled and frustrated. Now having read reviews, it seems it is a known and large problem.

The mixer is actually great. I was just disappointed that the 5.5 qt mixer bowl does NOT have the splash guard lid. There's nothing at all. I can order one, and am looking now, but i think people need to be aware of it ahead of time so they could also purchase one. You'd think Kitchenaid could at least include the splash guard for the bowl. That's one of the main things I was looking forward to. Everything else is great.

this mixer has been a workhorse since day 1. i have saved so much money on baked goods its ridiculous. this mixer doesn't only give you an extra pair of hands, it gives the ultimate baking convenience. the %231 reason i bought this is because my autistic son is so picky on baked good. now i just make exactly what he wants while saving big on money.

Purchased one for my wife for Christmas, the first one was dead on arrival, exchanged for another and now, 30 days later after being used lightly about 4-5 times, won't turn on. This is ridiculous, for a $400 mixer. I'm not just disappointed, I'm saddened that my wife was so happy about getting this and now she says she doesn't want another, or any more products from this company if it's going to be this unreliable.

Purchased in April 2024. Used primarily for bread and cookie making. Today February 2026 the machine started to leak oil all over bread dough. I was making one loaf so the mixer should have handled it with no problem. Not over heated and mixer is used on a regular basis. Bought to replace small artisan mixer which I feel worked better from the start.

Very disappointed in this mixer. My old 4.5qt had 400 watts of power. This one only has 325 and struggles to mix dough. The KitchenAid website doesn’t have this model. It has the 5.5qt with 500 watts.

Used it for about five minutes and then just quit. Went through the troubleshooting procedures and the motor never worked again ended up returning it.

Bought this on sale at Sams club. Attached flat beater on our new kitchen aid stand mixer and the point rubs against the bowl. The troubleshooting directions show an adjustment screw that is supposed to raise the shaft to clear the bottom of the bowl but turning the screw has no affect on the height. Looks like a general flaw in the engineering of the device so I don't think swapping it out will resolve this malfunction. Returning to Sams club, color me dissapointed.
