[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the new Brilliance plastic container from Rubbermaid. I actually own a larger version and didn’t realize it was part of the Brilliance line. The lids are truly airtight (maybe even a little hard to get off) and I like that they have a built-in vent for the microwave. I also appreciate that the containers are made with stain and order resistant clear plastic. They are BPA free, dishwasher safe, microwave safe, and freezer safe.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Rubbermaid Brilliance collection is all around amazing! I’ve tried both the glass and plastic containers and they both work great! The plastic container is light but very sturdy and the lid snaps closed so you know there won’t be any leaks. It is easy to clean and great for storing many different things! I definitely recommend this product!!!

I’m a food blogger and spend a great deal of time in the kitchen, so when Rubbermaid decided to send me a set of their new food storage containers for review purposes I was really able to run them through their paces. Over the past few weeks they’ve been stuffed with soup, stew, chili, curry, and other random dinner leftovers with great results. I haven’t had a single leak in my lunchbox yet, which is why these have quickly become my favorite containers for taking food on-the-go. What really makes these different from other latch-style containers is the fact that the seal isn’t removable—it’s attached directly to the lid which eliminates any chance of the seal slipping and allowing wet contents like salad dressing, salsa, or soup to slip through the cracks and all over your lunchbox. This, coupled with the built in vents below the latches that allow you to keep the lid on while warming your food, is what makes the design of these containers so brilliant. As much as I’ve enjoyed these containers they do have one major drawback—they’re incredibly difficult to open, so they may not be the best choice for anyone with impaired grip strength or for smaller children who are still developing their fine motor skills (my five year old really struggles when trying to open these containers and usually ends up spilling the contents everywhere.) They seal really well and keep things air tight. What I'm most impressed with is even though they are plastic, they don't stain. I even heated my spaghetti up in the container. No stain no smell. Nothing. I will buy more to replace my other containers!!

I use them for my sugar, flour, and cereal. They’re made very well and are clear so you can see what is in them. These containers are easy to open and close. I haven’t had any issues with using them

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Rubbermaid Brilliance containers are indeed 100% leak-proof, and that is the most important feature for my family. I like to take soups and foods with sauces to heat up at work and send in lunches for my daughter and husband, and this container is absolutely leak-proof. Initially i filled it half way with water and left on the counter for the whole day and shook it up good whenever i walked by...not a drop leaked out! I love the vents under the flip-up locks, that way i don't have to clean up splatters inside the microwave and foods heat up quicker because the lid is on. These containers are crystal clear and after being in the dishwasher now 3 times, it still looks brand new. I do find it a bit tricky to open with a soup inside, as it does require a good amount of pressure to unseal it, but as long as it is not filled to much and you are careful, it is not a worry. I'll be stocking up on a few more to have on hand, for sure!

The lid on the Rubbermaid® BRILLIANCE™ Food Storage Container is nice. It gives me peace of mind that the container is sealed. This container had kept my food well without leaking. The 2 vents under the lids for microwaving is a great idea to avoid splashes in the microwave.

It's a great size for lunches especially and feels like a heavy duty container that won't easily break. The lid does seal very tight, so it's a little difficult to remove but not horrible. I'm not a huge fan of reheating in plastic but did try it and it held up fine and the built in vents under the latches seem to work nice as well. I did also try this with red sauces and it didn't stain the container at all, true to it's claim.

In general, I like these containers, but they are really tall and narrow. If tall narrow containers work for your kitchen space- get them! If not, I would recommend a different size.
