While it’s effective at cleaning, it contains synthetic fragrance, optical brighteners, enzymes, dyes, and preservatives that can be irritating—especially for people with sensitive skin, allergies, or eczema. Some of these ingredients don’t actually clean clothes; they just make them appear brighter and can stay in fabric after washing. This isn’t about fear or shaming—just making informed choices about what we bring into our homes. Always read the back of the bottle and decide what works best for you. That said—Tide does offer Free & Gentle / Free & Clear options that skip the fragrance and dyes, which are a better fit for sensitive skin.

It is important to me that my laundry is left smelling free and has a lot of scent. This detergent has absolutely no clean laundry scent, it reminds me of how glue smells (lol) It actually is surprising because typically all Tide smells really great unless it’s the free & clear, so I’m not sure what’s going on with this product. I am unsure if it was effective on stains but my clothes were clean and only complaint is scent but that IS extremely important to me. Normal easy to manage packaging. I would not purchase this.

While I have started to prefer more natural ingredient detergents I still don't mind using tide when it's on sale and it doesn't irritate my family's skin and makes our clothes bright and clean again.

The packaging is easy to open and dispense for each wash. A little bit of detergent goes a long way which I love for cost effectiveness. Even in cold water, it gets my clothes looking bright, feeling soft, and smelling fresh. I like that it’s concentrated, so a little goes a long way — one small cap can handle a full load without needing extra detergent. It also dissolves well and doesn’t leave any residue on dark fabrics, which I’ve had issues with from other brands. The scent is classic Tide — clean, crisp, and long-lasting without being too strong. Overall, it’s perfect for everyday laundry, especially if you want consistent results with minimal effort.

I was only aware of laundry detergent made for high efficiency washing machines. Tide put the turbo into, and it uses quick-collapsing suds to truly unlock your washing machines cleaning potential while eliminating the worry that it over-suds. It works great. Even in quick wash and cold wash settings. It also still has that classic Tide scent. I am happy with the results.
