I actually had to cut a small piece off of the stub that keeps the lid from opening. (Turning) I tried to unscrew it at the Sam's gas station. Several others tried as well. Outside of that, it does hold gas.

These cans are so easy and clean to use. Say goodbye to the old squeeze and click safety valves. This is all controlled at your thumb and no need trying to tip a van to fill up the mower and then spilling all over. Simple flow and stop valve and bottom line supply line. Bout time someone made this can.. wish it would have been me

This gas can is amazing , with a old style can your constantly standing on your head to get gas in whatever your filling up then if you move just a bit it spills , not to mention they’re making them now to where it’s hard to figure out how to even use it ….well let me tell you this gas can is so easy to use you just put the hose into whatever your filling up then just push the lever and that’s it, no more getting a workout holding a full gas can trying to pour it in I sit this on the edge of my mower then put the nozzle in the tank hit the button and bam it just works as it should easy peasy , it’s kinda hard to get excited over a gas can but I’m exciting to use this each time knowing how easy it is get ya one you won’t be disappointed

This gas can is great. I no longer have to lift 5 gallons of diesel fuel above my head to refuel my tractor.

This thing makes putting fuel in things so easy one recommendation is put a loose zip tie around the handle so you don’t have to hold it for the whole 5 gallons. If you have room in the tank putting the zip tie on it will hold that handle while the fuel drains into your tank

Due to the design of the cap it is impossible to actually get 5 gallons of gas due to the vapor recovery nozzles (California). Will be modifying the can to enable a full 5 gallons can be put in the can.

Over priced for the features you get. The first time I filled it a part went flying off. I was able to find it and figured out how to reinstall it. It is a bit difficult and tiring to use and I was using it to refill a motorhome tank. The height of the tank fill made it very tiring to hold the tank up, holding the weight of the tank and having to use two hands to operate it.

This is my 2nd Sure Can. My first has the old screw top fill hole that I removed that annoying plastic whisker from and it's great, this new one with the spring loaded fill top is a PITA. I broke it apart on the first fill trying to put gas in it, and didn't even get 5 gallons in it because I spilled about a pint. Can't hold the spring loaded cap open, the pump nozzle safety mechanism and fuel nozzle at the same time. It's a great concept, but in practical use not so much. If your can starts to leak, call Sure Can and they'll send you a replacement plunger for free to repair it.
