I had a Stearns and Foster mattress a few years ago, but I had to donate it when we moved. I bought a different brand, but I woke up with lower back pain way too often. So recently, I decided I was going to buy another Stearns and Foster, and my back pain is gone. I will never buy another mattress!

I swapped out my new Sealy for this mattress during a sleep trial because I felt the Sealy was too warm. I made a huge mistake because this is the hottest mattress I've ever owned and now I'm stuck with it. I was told by the sales rep it would be cooler and it is probably 15 degrees warmer. Also I use it on an adjustable base and the pillow top squishes together creating lumps everywhere. The absolute worse.

I really like my new mattress. I tried it out for a couple of 15 minute trials in the store prior to purchase and it felt amazing. I actually believe the medium with a pillow top would have been my preference, but was not available to try. I sleep pretty well on this mattress but find I sink in a little more than I expected after laying in one position for a while, so that when I move from my back to side, I lightly wake, but return to sleep as the new position provides me comfort. The quality of the mattress will hopefully keep the support I need for years to come.

I suffer with low back pain, but even after 1 sleep on this matress, I could move better & think clearer because I slept so good! When I read about this mattress having a cooling technology, I really didn't believe it, until I slept on it. I did not get overheated during the night, which was amazing because we leave out thermostat a little warmed than the downstatirs, so it was a win for me! At first I thought this was the most comfortable mattress ever. Then I had one delivered and snapped out of it. When you first lay on it, it's soft and comfortable. About an hour or so into your sleep, you discover you are in a hot gully. The memory foam holds the heat and if you sleep warm to begin with, as I am, this will drive you nuts. Also, since they use a lot of memory foam in this mattress, the off-gassing goes on for more than 2 weeks - and that's with fans going and windows open on a cool day. If any of this is a problem for you, move along. I swapped this out and got something else. It's a shame, too. Except for the glue spot on the side of the mattress (which at this price point should not have been there), it seemed like it was made well.

Great at first but didn't last long... The depressions where we've slept are so bad that it's impossible to slept anywhere else. We always end up back in the depressions. Over time, it's gotten worse and worse and worse. We also got the adjustable base. It's so poorly crafted that we feel every movement all night long. We've had 17 months and we're already replacing. 4K down the drain for a crappy mattress and adjustable bar. Save you money and shop elsewhere.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was surprised that a "divot" formed in the pillow top almost immediately, and remains. Even though it is supposed to be "firm", the pillow top makes it more difficult to move around on and get off of the mattress. Apparently, just lying on it in the store doesn't provide a good feel for the mattress in daily use. In hind-sight, I believe I should not have chosen the pillow top style. Considering the cost, I would rethink the whole process.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We absolutely adore this mattress! It is firm, yet comfortable. I have a bad back, so anything too soft makes it difficult for me to sleep. This mattress is both supportive and soft. I was skeptical because it is not a pillow top, but it was exactly what I needed. I have also been very impressed with how cool we feel while we are sleeping, no more sweaty nights!

I have the Lux Estate Soft Pillowtop. Its a VERY hot mattress to sleep on. I have never been a hot sleeper but on this mattress, I have turned into one thanks to the Tempur Indulge foam. (This is NOT my first rodeo with memory foam). I have tried 100% Bamboo sheets, low thread count sheets, no mattress protector, and keeping my thermostat at 67 degrees while I sleep. Nothing has helped me sleep cool on this mattress. I even called Stearns' customer service and the Rep said that the cooling cover on the Lux Estate just doesn't work well for everyone. I stopped by a local mattress store yesterday and spoke with the salesman about the heat issues on this mattress. He wasnt shocked and actually told me he expects to hear more complaints about this bed holding heat. He agreed that the vents on the side of the mattress are more cosmetic than anything. It doesnt aid in cooling the mattress whatsoever. I am currently in the process of trying to buy a new (non Stearns and Foster) bed. Aside from the heat, the mattress is comfy for the 3 weeks I have had it. Its a medium soft feel and I am a strict side sleeper.

The S&F Lux Estate Medium PT didn't work for me. It had too much memory foam that I sank into causing lower back and hip pain. I am a side sleeper and occasionally sleep on my back. It also slept hot because of all the memory foam. I exchanged it for the S&F Estate Plush tight top which is perfect and costs less.
